Pearl Ruckus 2014

Hope we also have WiFi! ;)
I will like to tweet away!!!

It's gonna be the BEST Ruckus ever!

So excited to be coming to the Ruckus for the first time!

Yes, I received a message from Hisano. Thanks! Like Cathy, I am so excited to attend Ruckus for the first time!!!

I will bring a pair of friends over...many will hopefully want to meet them ;)

One is a Cortez Mabe Necklace, set in sterling silver and all-hand made, with 28 AA grade Mabe pearls...similar to the one we made a couple of months ago for a notable US Senator. Very nice piece...this one has a larger central pearl of splendid beauty.

Then I have another little friend: an 18" Cortez Pearl necklace made with 47 pearls (8.2-9.9 mm), made with A, A+ and Gem+ grade pearls...quite a feat to produce such a strand. This will be this year's finest necklace but it will be very reasonably priced. Features a 14K Italian gold clasp. The photos don't do any justice...the colors came out flushed.

Both were made specially for this year's Pearl Ruckus. Will be available to be worn with love...you just have to ask :)

Douglas, I am so excited to see these pieces in person!!! (I bought 4 loose "red" mabes from you last summer.)

Douglas, I so look forward to meeting you as well as your "babies" :)

In preparation for the Ruckus, I came up with this method for storing and transporting my pearl earrings. Each day of the week has an earring, or two small ones, wrapped in Kleenex. Feel free to use yourselves (but let's not get our pill cases mixed up!):

LOL, BAS… when you get older, these actually get used for pills :)

So do mine! I have a month's worth of day and night containers but will put them to other use (pearl earring holder use) during the Ruckus keeping one set for actual meds that week. I better not swallow some studs!!!

Brilliant, BAS LOL ... any suggestions for necklaces?

My pearls won't take too much room to pack as the collection is modest, although the "aspirations" aren't ... now if I brought my silver and turquoise ... I'd be over all the weight limits LOL.

Well, since you asked. I rolled the closed clasps in Kleenex and then wrapped the whole necklaces in Kleenex. Then placed them in snack/sandwich Ziploc baggies labelled in Sharpie (I figure being in baggies for just a few days will be okay). I'll carry those in light plastic take-out containers because the boxes are just too heavy and bulky. This is the best combination of protective, safe and light I could come up with for my carry-on, which can fit under the seat in front of me. Pill containers and Chinese take-out containers are not exactly chic -- ah, but the treasures that lie within...

LOVE this idea ... thanks ever so much! I happen to have a bunch of those containers ... hubby loves to save them LOL.

I always keep a couple sheets of bubble wrap in my luggage. ...you never know what treasures will need protection!

I am so excited to be attending my first Ruckus!

BAS, I love your clever containers. And to think that I have been using those black containers for leftovers.

Douglas, I look forward to meeting you and your two gorgeous friends! I hope you will also bring enough little friends to go around, since so many people are attending this year.
