Always beautiful, Pattye!

I especially love those fire opals - the graduated colors are gorgeous.

Yes, Sueki, we are kinda in rope mode, aren't we?

Pattye,
You are so right.
I've lately come to realise that daintier, short necklaces no longer suit me; the same goes for smaller pearls, too, so I'm gradually re-working several of my pieces. All pearls 10mm. and smaller will be made into ropes so I can wear long and single, or doubled/tripled and short.

I'll leave the smaller and daintier pieces to those lovely bright young things who can do them justice ! :)

Pattye, those are beautiful! I love the sunstone (always have!) and the ropes are delicious.

Oh Pattye!! How beautiful--I love you choices of gemstones to enhance the beautiful pearls. Those sunstones are so beautiful--where did you get the faceted ones? Just wonderful combinations here! Druzydesign is a wonderful source-glad to see that some of the really beautiful stones that I have coveted there went to a good home and were used to create such beautiful designs--!!!

Sheryl,
I love that you can and do use local gemstones.
I know the lava rock beads are very popular now! ;) But I haven't tried them with pearls!!

Claudenancy,
I agree, it is special! I have been fortunate to get the faceted and nugget (not shown) sunstone and fire opal gems directly from the mine owners. The rough is first sent to China or Canada to be made into beads. However, some of the top gem quality Oregon Sunstone and Fire Opal are individually faceted for mounting in rings, pendants, etc., by US artists. so far I have not been able to find direct mine sources for the Oregon jaspers, but am still working on that.

Here is a very poor photo of my last minute, first attempt at an authentic tin cup, gift for my son to give his wife for Christmas. The pearls are 10+mm from Cook Islands via Carolyn. They are very lustrous, which doesn't show in the photo, chose ones very green--as they are DILs favorites--fortunately, it was a big hit! Oh, used 14k white gold.

I love the green ones, too. You did a superb job. What a terrific mother-in-law! ;)

Pattye:
Amazing work as always. And you are so kind and sensitive to give what she wants and to take the time to know what that is. I second Gem Geeks comment. You are a great M-I-L!

Haven't posted anything here for awhile, but this is kinda fun!

A little true blue pearl grew attached to the main pearl! I added apatite roundels in multiple colors to compliment the blue. This is actually a custom order for an etsy client---on an enhancer bail.

Pattye - I love your pieces.. but I am glad you added to this thread because it gave a reason to go back and look again at those stunning fire opals.. amazing!

Pattye, thanks for posting all those beauties! Love them!! My fingers itch again to do more combinations of pearls with stones. Pendant is lovely, opal - stunning and all "pearly creations" delicious !! You gave me some ideas ! I love when new pictures pop up in those forums!!!
