First Beading Project Ever

Hi Raisondetre - beautiful work now with your knotting. The pinbk strand is lovely, and looks very professional. Don't you just love magnetic clasps?

Thanks, Nerida. Magnetic clasps are the best, aren't they? So strong ... only thing is if you get the polarity wrong with double strands it just flips over. Kinda cute, really. ;P

I did the other strand from the same lot - it came as a pair. The picture in the ad showed something more peachy/golden, like this one, so I was very pleasantly surprised to get the pure baby pink strand. This is a comparison between the two - the variation is subtle - my eyes must be ultra sensitive to any color change; but it's close enough to be worn as a rope.

The outer strand is the baby pink, the inner strand the other strand, which is just a little more peach.

Your knots are impressively consistent!

That is a fantastic shade of pink- and we know how you like pink! :)

Beautifully done, Raison!

You certainly have earned the perfect pink pearls! I can see the slight difference, and I feel that will make the strands even more interesting and lovely when worn together!

Cor.......
Raison, the pinks are lovely; and I agree with Pattye that they'll look fabulous worn together. The colour difference is so slight that it'll look like deliberate shading and will add interest.
And if wearing them as a rope you won't be able to stop looking down....:)

Alright, Raisondeitre,

So am I the only one who's curious about what's going on with this???

Upset about getting two left shoes in the mail ..

LOL You guys crack me up. I bought a pair of Nike Shox on ebay, and I got two left shoes. The seller was really nice, and is sending me a new pair FOC. She probably lost two pairs' worth of money in total.

I just finished a pearl/rose quartz bracelet for a friend, will do the matching necklace tonight. Wanted it 6.5" but because the toggle loses a bit of length it's closer to 7". Not quite, but almost 7".

I've finished the necklace. Clocks in at just under 20".

I only do one thing at a time, and I always clear it! LOL

I just did a couple lavenders.

Lavender001.jpg

Gray 8-9mm (supposedly, haven't measured it) with pink amethyst and silver magnetic ball clasp. Strung with 10lb power pro as the drill-holes wouldn't fit the 20lb twice - broke a couple.

This is a necklace, but I just put it round as a triple strand bracelet for convenience. 12mm lavender drops with dark amethysts. I tried to enlarge the drillholes manually to get the 20lb powerpro through, did end up finding a few with larger drillholes so I could use it.

A bit blurry, but I'll try again tomorrow.

Absolutely Outstanding!! My gosh, your friend could get married in the rose quartz/pearl necklace, bracelet set, it is so lovely! And the last one, can't wait for more photos! Great colors!! Caitlin will be loving that one too!

These are awesome. Great job. Question to the Power Pro experts - can you put stones on it, or will they eventually cut through? I am very, very hesitant to put any stones or metals on anything but beading wire.

If there is a sharp edge,on a stone-or even on a very few pearls- powerpro can cut through. A little reaming with a hand reamer will take the rough edge off, because the sharp edges are around the drill holes.

I have never used PP for gemstones though- I go with wire. We had one person reporting cutting through power pro by gemstones.

BTW Raison, the combo of one pearl, one gemstone, is a favorite with me. I did only that pattern in 2005 and it was extremely popular. It is beautiful and classic, that's why. I totally love pearls and pink quartz, but had great success with garnet pearl, garnet pearl too. I think I saw that in one of the strands on the cone thread....

Hi Sheryl,
I always ream the gem beads first, to be on the safe side.
I haven't had any problems so far....

Raison, your pieces are beautiful - I especially love the pearl/rose quartz set....:)
