The Pearl Outlet

Elisa just did a photo shoot with us, and she was great! I'm sure many of you remember the photo she took of a rope-length pearl necklace she had purchased from us and it was suggested that she do some modeling for us. Well, we took that suggestion to heart and here are the results!

Now for some fun! Out of these 500+ shots, what are your top 10 favorites?

NOTE: Please respect our copyright on these photos and don't take them, use them, or post them elsewhere.

Wowee! Elisa is so pretty and shows off all the necklaces so well. She is fresh and clean-even in the d?collet? shots. I don't have the patience to pick out 10, I was too overwhelmed by sheer numbers.

Ok first things first, where have you been hiding those gorgeous tin cup ropes??? I hope this photoshoot means they'll be on your site soon!

I really liked the pictures of Elisa in the black strapless dress with her hair down the best. Young fresh & very elegant... and most important those shots really make the pearls pop!

180, 213, 253, 270, 313, 404, 483, 488, 524, 541

I don't think there's going to be an easy way to check out each persons choices. That or by the time we're done we will all be familiar with the pictures by the numbers.

I have to wonder if Sarah felt like that Barbie doll in "Toy Story" by the end of the day. "Is the camera off?" "Can I unscrew my smile now, my jaw hurts." "Is the camera off?"

She sure is cute. Perfect foil for those pearls! Nice selection too Terry.

They are all fabulous photos.
I can't pick a favourite.
Elisa is stunning in every single one.
As are the pearls - no wonder she has such a huge smile....

I wonder if you will manage to get her to leave.....:)

161, 181, 188, 193, 213, 224, 243, 241,

273 and 280 are my favs out of all of them!!

302, 325, 372... then I they all started blurring into one giant picture.

Wow, go Elisa!!

All gorgeous - ropes are great - shots from the back with the ropes are fantastic - love the earring shot with hair up and face to the side - all just beautiful - and the pearls!!!!

Elisa looks great!!! Ditto Caitlin's description of her as, "fresh and clean". It's utterly refreshing to see a model like that.

I started to pick out my faves, and gave up when I realized how many there were. :(

Before I gave up, 143, 149, and 151.
From the bottom, I like 529, 535 and 537.
Didn't have the stamina to go through the middle....

The light on the pearls and Elisa is very flattering....This is what we "over 40's" THINK we look like!

#'s 144, 153, 169, 185, 191, 215, 253, 280, 310, 321, 343, 364.......et all.

Whew!

It took a while, but here are my choices for the best model + pearl (let's not forget the pearls!) photos:

Top choice 358
Then 350 and 436
Then 513, 546, 569, 161, 270, 293, 454

You are very photogenic, Elisa!

Ditch the pics with the patterned dress. They are too busy and distract from the pearls. Next ditch all the pics with light colored pearls, reason bneing again you lose the pearls in the pictures. With a white background, a light skinned person, the pearls are lost. We here will look for the pearls, but when the average person you want to advertise sees them, they won't give them as much notice as the ones that are darker colored. A good trick is a colored dress such as peach or such that brings out the color of the skin and thus makes the white stand out more. You can also use a hotter light to give the pearls more radience in the pictures if you have a better skin tone to work with. The model is lovely. Her hair in the first few with the part was again a distracting note. Your eye tends to hit the part as much as the cleavage. In later pictures you have no visible part and they show better. For feminine pictures stay with rounded curves in the pose. Angles suggest more masculine. Get closer pics, by using a telephoto lens. It also helps to accentuate the pearls more making them seem bigger. Think moon effect when shot with a telephoto. Don't take photos straight on. They make it seem more like a driver's license pic. Have her look a bit from the side, head down just a bit that way she has to look up, making her eyes more luminous and prominate. Another slick trick is to have her stick her tongue on the roof of her mouth as far back as she can, thus giving the neck muscles more rigidity and a smoother surface to show the pearls off with. These are some tricks I picked up from both Alan Ross and John Sexton.

By the way there is a discrepancy between the number of the photos on the main pages and the photo that comes up when the number is clicked on in the close-up page in the case of 546 (I like the golden SS photo, not the side-looking earring photo) and 454 (I like the photo of the rope, not the black pearls photo).

For some reason when you click on the same numbers on the close-up page, 2 other photos come up.

my vote: 10 way tie between all the pictures where my eyes are closed ;)

thanks for all the lovely comments-- it was so fun to do the shoot for terry, and it only happened because all of you commented so sweetly on my lina cavalieri picture!

My favorite pieces to prance around in were:
-the big multicolor rope (see 357 (VQ8F0498) or 363 (VQ8F0504))
-the tahitian beauty with the diamond clasp in front (it is gorgeous, thus the idiotic grin lol)
-the tahitian larait ( sooo pretty in person!) in pic 273/VQ8F0414.jpg
the golden south sea earrings in this one and the following 20 somethings shots...

I thought that for casual wear the pinky-lavender necklace in 126(VQ8F0267) was just darling. I went in thinking chocolate pearls weren't very pretty, but once i tried them on, they won me over...this one, it has tiny diamond stations, it is so delicate and different.

My fav was actually the full chocolate strand. It looks so warm and lovely.

Guess what? My sister just asked if you were Anne Hathaway!

Ha! That is so funny (and flattering!) :) my mom says I look like her....she always gets mad when they straighten Anne Hathaway's hair in the Princess Diaries. "It's better curly!" she cries.

and yes, i really liked that all-chocolate one-- and i wasn't expecting to at all!

You are a natural born rope-wearer! Haven't had time to pic my favs. Was glad to see some with up-dos. Some really great shots!

Now that is an impossible task!! I agree with Aggie, the patterned dress is too busy. The ropes look fab, they all look great! Elisa, you just look so happy and beautiful to be playing in pearls!!! I will look forward to seeing what appears on your website, Terry.

I really like VQ8F0431.jpg and VQ8F0432.jpg

What a great model! She looks so warm and vivacious--not like most of what one sees in ads. Don't be afraid to use some of the ones that show a little humor. That will draw attention to the ad.
