Hello PG and here are some of my pearls...

Oh, my dear. ALWAYS read PG with napkins at your elbow.
When my sister helped me pack for a move she labeled my big boxes of shoes and boots IMELDAS.
Hmph.

I LOVE it!!

Mine gets labeled Heidi's Shoe Museum. It's closer to the truth than I'd like to admit some days... ;)

Well, my litmus test is Jay Leno. As long as my collection of 'Classics' takes up less space than his, I'm good.
A good shoe is a good shoe. Period. Museum status or age of shoe is irrelevent.

Esther's Naturals.jpg

I thought that these might be of interest here.

They are natural pearls - a total of 330 six millimeter pearls. They belong to my best friend, Esther, whose father gave them to her mother in December 1944. They had been purchased earlier in Kuwait (don't know exactly when).

What unique characteristics do you observe in person regarding color, nacre quality, iridescence?

Pattye, they have this very deep creamy color and simply glow.

They need to be washed and restrung. Their holes are almost microscopic, no idea what kind and size of thread and needle should be used.
Any help will be appreciated.

Those are positively stunning!

That is an upscale natural necklace- two rows of big pearls! 6mm is large for natural pearls. It is rather unlikely to see a double strand that big with very many spheres, they usually look just like this necklace.

Are you going to to redo it? Get tiny thread and needles

Oh Nora, they are so beautiful......sigh......many thanks to you and Esther for sharing her precious treasure :):):)

I'm sitting here having a coffee with a big grin on my face as I look at their glowing beauty :D !!

Astonishing! Thank you so much for sharing - these are really something.
