Giant Keshi

Thanks for sharing the photograph. What a cool necklace! Fortunately for our pocketbooks, it flew out the door... ;)

I guess that layaway would have taken 7 years to finish! Darn

I love the colors in those keshi. If you put together a bracelet with small (4-6MM) keshi that color, what do you speculate it might cost?

Hi Caitlin -

Related tangentially, though not belly drilled and only temporarily strung, to your query: there is a strand of Kamoka keshis lingering ever so deliciously on Kojima's site. LINK. The colors in the earrings I just got from her are very similar to the colors in Jeremy's necklace.

Price range is "already shipped out today!" Actually, it "was" in the $6k range.
In fairness to the necklace what is your estimate of retail (B&M) pricing. I would assume a necklace this unique might be called upon to pay a couple months' rent (as well as to create a pricing wake for the rest of the inventory).

Love it. Love keshi or keishi as I spell it. Beautiful Jeremy. I love designing with keishi and Tahitian keishi most of all. I haven't had any side drilled like these though. Pity.

I have not seen a Tahitian keshi strand this large before. It is hard to say. One thing is important to note about the strand, the pearls are face-drilled. That is why it is so heavy.

But if I were to guesstimate I would say a good US wholesale price range for large, smooth keshi would be $70 to $100 per gram. That range is about double what one could get in Tahiti. But the piece would need to be matched and assembled. So I would estimate it would sell in the range of $300 per gram retail.

Thanks Jeremy!

Maybe I'll look at some commercial grade flat-drilled keshi at the upcoming G&LW Show in early Sept for a wannabee knock-off of that one

Really beautiful, Jeremy. It would be nice to see this one on a real neck to see it in perspective - any possibility?

This is something of a special keshi strand. They are side-drilled and slight graduated, from about 12 mm to 18 mm+ in the middle. It is about 26-inches long.

Now that would make a great mans necklace

Jeremy,

I will echo John's request. I just cannot get a sense of the size of that piece without seeing it on someone. Is there any chance of getting a picture before it actually goes out the door?
