Octo Babies!

I'm so glad to see Althea out and about, and what lovely photos you have posted, Purranha! I have a new addition to my own octo family, so thought I'd share...a giant in rose bronze and a teensy baby, kiln-fired enamel on silver, both set with metallic freshwater pearls I got at the September show in Hong Kong. This is the first time I've made one of the infants into a post earring, and I'm thinking I may need to make more!

*SQUUEEEAAAAAAAL*!!!!!!!!!! OMG the new batch is SOOOO CUTE!!! I LUV how the big papa & and little aqua baby are such nice contrast with each other, and love how they look nested together!!! OMG OMG OMG!!! Big papa's head is really quite unusual, that little squeeze on the tip, yet so smooth and shiny on the pearl body - quite a beautiful pearl and fit beautifully together with rose bronze! WOW!!!

Sheri I noticed a peep of aqua in big papa's tentacle - on the top one and bottom left corner. Curious what caused it? It actually sets papa off with teensy baby even better!

Thank you JerseyPearl! Here are the stats for the Gellner-inspired Big Bang style recreation.
The inside strand is rhodolite garnet with 1 SoC pearl (the rest of the pearls are Tahitians).
The middle strand is multi-color sapphire graduated into black spinel at the back (since I ran out of the multi-color sapphire lol).
I have also added slightly larger pink tourmaline rubellite nuggets to add texture.
The outside strand is labradorite.
The outer-most strand is made with labradorite, and connected to 4 of my bracelets from when I was young, connected to shorteners/connector bails & chains. The bracelets are still intact and I can disconnect/re-connect them!

Fabulous! I have been using rhodolite and labradorite for my necklaces (along with aqua, but not really complimentary in color to those others). I'm going to have to try layering the different colors together! And I love the different colors of sapphires with the nuggets of rubellite.

I'm late to the game here, but those little guys are adorable!!!

I can't stop thinking about these octo-babies - I need one!!

oh my seas!!!!! Those earrings are just adorable and gorgeous!!!
