My new Revenge Victoria Grayson strand!!!

Purranha, that's looks gorgeous. And that pearl... delicious!

Oh-- can't wait to see it!

I think the pricing on the HG strands is reasonable when you consider the quality of each of the pearls. They are really out of this world. And it's a long strand with a lot of pearls in it!

OK, so I have been experimenting with my tassel and have come up with a good solution for wearing with a pearl rope...I added two orbit clasps (one in yellow gold, the other white gold) to clip on the tassel. Each leg of the rope is around 15" so I can also use them as stand alone pieces. View attachment 39809View attachment 39810View attachment 39811 The longer rope is one from the 2014 PP sale...still my favorite!!

I am new to pearls although I've been fascinated by them forever!!! Is PearlParadise a good quality retailer, in your opinion? And if it is not too forward to ask, what would be the estimate of the strand you purchased from them? or what ballpark figure should I expect for a strand like yours? Thank you.

What a pearl! The combo is quite delicious!

Mermaid, the strand in this photo was a strand that I made myself. I have purchased a number of pearls from PearlParadise, however, and I find that their pricing is very fair. If there is a particular strand you are after...say Tahitians...call them, ask if they have any sales upcoming. When they do they usually discount their prices, but the items sell out quickly.

Purranha, that looks gorgeous! The tassel is picking up on some fabulous pink flashes on that HG pearl. can't wait to see the finished project!

I love that look !! And that big finding..did you already mention where that came from?? I tried out the tassel company...they took a long time to come but they are gorgeous! Good find that place.!

Katbran! I shared the big ball bail links in post #272 & #274. Do keep in mind it is quite big - I think the measurement is around 20x30mm? It also comes in 4 metal colors, which is awesome.

Yes the tassel company is located in Turkey and shipping does take forever. But I've been very happy with my purchase (made 2 batch of purchases so far). I have purchased both the silky ones and the metallic ones. The metallic ones will be sliiiightly stiffer and thinner, but still really nice. The silky ones are softer and fuller. :D

Hi Ladies! Sharing a brand new project fresh off the oven - introducing Amanda Clark! Aside from the original Victoria Grayson Tahitian rope, I also really liked the one she wore in the Vow Renewal ceremony. But haha can not name this one Victoria Grayson again. Amanda Clark will be the last installment of the Revenge series - will have to move onto a new theme next time!

The making of Victoria & Emily came easily & naturally, things just fell into place and the execution took no time. But Amanda Clark wasn’t so straight forward. There were many tweakings, failed attempts, parts to be ordered, etc. It’s like her character – is she friend or is she foe? Took her character a while to find her footing in the series. The project and journey took many different inspirations from various P-G vendors and members, so it is quite special.

I bought three smooth ripples! See what I can do with it? Challenge accepted! I knew I wanted to make the vow renewal set with these 3 strands, but it took me a while to act on it because I dread wire wrapping. DREAD!

this Yoko London piece caught my eye, and I thought, could I attempt to make something “inspired” by it?

I took a stab at it with a weaving method using super thin soft flex since I clearly can not metal smith. It was pretty frustrating and I had to rework it a few times. End result was quite pretty, but unfortunately it didn’t drape right. So instead of reworking it yet again, I scratched the project. The rondelles are moss aquamarine, findings from Etsy, and Tahitians is a mini-lot I got from Jac of Pearl House with green and brown colors which went beautifully with the moss aquamarine. Too bad this project didn’t work out. Will have to come up with other projects for this mini-lot soon!

Back to the drawing board. I strung the 1st strand on regular soft flex with seed pearls as bumpers, did a simple wire wrap for the 2nd strand, and wire wrapped the last strand with additional oval links in-between.
I have to thank Newberry for the inspiration to add additional oval links into the wire-wrap. I saw in previous posts that Newberry had various beautiful wire-wrapped pieces by Pattye, Sarah of Kojima, etc and I like it so much more than regular wire-wrap or tin-cups. I also did the wire-wrap in silver and oval chains with gold-filled chains so I get a bi-color piece with more versatility.

And well, even though the original vow renewal strand does not have tassels, but we NEED to have tassels in this thread, don’t we? I’ve already shared this tassel earlier in this thread. Since this awesome tassel ball has openable bail, I can clip it onto any of the strands! This is also inspired by the piece JerseyPearl shared earlier in the thread.

Before arriving at the final design set, I changed/tweaked the clasp, length, and debated about making 1 long continuous rope or 3 separate linkable modules. I ended up keeping the 3 strands separate because I find the wire wrapping to be more delicate than the normal ropes. I even thought about “blending” the HG Ripples into the rope, but didn’t end up doing it because I don’t want to lose the ability to layer it with various sets (including Amanda Clark!). See below for some trials in between.

Some additional styling & linkages here. And inspired by BabyNurse’s Tahitian and WSSP mixed opera strand, and KaySD’s “funky rope”, I attempted to link the smooth ripple to a strand of baroque Tahitian I picked up last fall. I quite like how they go together!
Thank GOODNESS the ball clasp fit! Can I tell you how many times the ball claps are NOT interchangeable, even from the same supplier? Drives me absolutely insane. I also made a little “extension” segment with the leftover pearls so I have have different length options.
