A casual day today. A keshi necklace I got on eBay. The other was a TJMaxx piece made with sapphire beads but a really crummy pearl. So I replaced it with a beautiful lavender freshwater from Kojima and had the necklace restrung. Although this pearl reads as silver, it’s actually lavender. I wear this necklace all the time.

I'm happy to learn I'm not the only one to rework TJMaxx items. I recently picked up a clearance bracelet with stick freshwater pearls that I plan to rework into .... something. Thinking earrings.

I have a pair of white fireballs that I harvested from 2 TJ’s jadite strands. I combined the 2 strands and turned the fireballs into dangle earrings. I’ll post it sometime. It all worked out well.

I couldn't sleep last night, so I posted a bit more stuff on my Pearl Trip post. It's just a few things stuffed in here or there. It's not something at the end, but in the earlier posts.

I'm off to an international Kumihimo (Japanese braiding) conference (in Cleveland of all places) this morning. See you in a week!

Hello All! I had the great pleasure of catching up with Jeremy and Hisano over dinner last night. And took the opportunity to wear my conch double strand and conch pendant. As promised, here are some long overdue photos. I am no photographer, but I tried to catch the chatoyancy/flame pattern on some of the pearls. The double strand is heavenly. And the pendant really tickles my fancy.

Beautiful! Lots of flame in a variety of permutations. Plenty of color. Diamonds and platinum allow the pearls to individually express. A treasure!

They are so beautiful!

Those conch pearls are something else! On a much less impressive note, these are the TJMaxx pearls and beads I mentioned last week. This was originally 2 single strands of jadite beads with a fireball at each end. So I had 4 fireballs. I took a pair and had them made into dangles. I paired the 2 bead strands together and had the other pair of fireballs put on the ends, and this is how it turned out. BTW I did not do the work myself, sent it to a jeweler. I don’t have these skills.

Have fun at your conference, BWeaves!

BAS, the conchs are quite spectacular!

Good to see you, SurfnSci! I love the soft colors of the Kasumi you chose!

Thanks for sharing that, Syrie. I love the fun pieces you reimagined with those fireballs!

Thanks so much, CatMom! I don’t think about having that strand come out to play as much as I should.

A Tahitian pendant from Hawaii with a rope and dangles I put together. I’ve had the pair of pistachio T’s for a long time and finally decided to wire wrap simple dangles, but when I tried to run the wire through one side, I couldn’t find the drill hole in the nucleus. I kept putting it aside and trying again every once in a while and finally- success!

These are keshis that I love to wear together. The long strands are from PP. The shorter one is from Pearl Society and the studs came from TJMaxx — a surprising find there. They are a pretty greenish blue.

Thank you, Jeg! Your SoC necklace has my heart <3 (and your blue Collins strand, too!)

Lovely keshis, Syrie! Those studs were an amazing find at TJ Maxx, wow.

Kamoka ring, and earring drop jackets I made with Tahitians from JNB gems.
