Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Just wanted to pop in & show off some pearls in pink. Kojima Waterfall necklace with pinkish ripple pearl & pink tassel, multicolored pearl necklace of pink, lavender, & peach. Finished off with pink Akoya studs. Loving all the posts, ladies.

Beautiful, PearlyLibrarian!

Happy Mother’s Day! I’m wearing a shirt my mom made for herself. She made a matching shirt for me, and you can see my sister running in the background with her matching shirt and wide cuffed jeans. I have the “pearl” hairclip I’m wearing somewhere in the house, but where…
A strand of vintage Akoya from Fuji, layered with a golden Akoya strand from Takahashi. My sister inherited my mom’s pearls or I would be wearing them.

OMG, you're adorable, little jeg!💕

BWeaves, how great to have a pic of your mom in her pearls. I WANT the coat!:D

Thank you Shani! That first strand is actually a strand of FW. It’s really beautiful!

PearlyLibrarian, two of my favorite Hawaiian vendors, and what a treasure that book is!

It’s so nice to see you in your gorgeous pearls, 86C! It’s been a while…

Haha, thank you 2thdktr. I can’t remember who mentioned the pouty face, but it’s the same look I had in all my pics for a couple years.

I always start out with good intentions to not add anymore pearls, but then… I can’t resist. I gave this one a good look in Tucson, and it was still available. A double strand of Tahitians with a vintage clasp from the PacificPearls collection. Worn with Tahitian earrings I made.

My sister's back for a visit, and we're swapping some of Mom's jewelry back and forth again. This time my sister gave me the pearl earrings my mother wore every day back in the 1960s. Double pearl earrings were very popular back then. Very Mad Men. These are small akoyas and they're still in pretty good shape for being worn every day for at least 15 years straight and then sitting in a jewelry box for decades.
Double pearl earrings always make me think of Elizabeth Taylor in "A Place in the Sun." Very pretty, very wearable.

Hello ladies — heading downtown to do errands and then to the office. I’m wearing a strand of pink freshwaters and a pair of mabe pearl earrings, both from my friend in the business.

Hooray! My first saltwater necklace and it's tahitian one. Also my first attempt in stringing (the first photo) done with the guide of magnificent Pearl Dreams.
I was scary to tug too tight, so after several days thread stretched and I needed to restreched with a firmer approach. My inexperinnce lead to tree pearls perished (only one from pressure, two others because I was silly enought to let knot to slip within the pearl with the remnants of glue and it was a deadstuck situation). Luckily, I expected something like this to happen, so I purchased slightly more pearls that I need.

I did my second try with the classic japenese method and shortened the length slightly so it would match this particular blouse. I am really happy with light-blue-silver to greenish ombre and pearls elongating into drops to create this non-standart look. I'll left regular look for other necklaces, this one supposed to be artistic 😇. Photos 2 and 3 is how necklace is now, quite tight, but I am sure after a couple of days it will be just right.
It always takes me three tries to restring each necklace.

You’re welcome, BWeaves! I love trying on all the pearls!!!

Heading downtown in style, Syrie! You look so fresh and springy.

Cherry Tahitian studs from a PP Hong Kong live event, a Tahitian pendant from Kojima, and a leather bracelet and leather choker/bracelet from one of my favorite San Francisco street artists.

Aww, I love this photo! Your love of pearls started very young!

Thanks, 86C and Catmom!:giggle:

Very chic, Pomelo! I’d do a double take if I saw you strolling down the street.

Kojima earrings from PBTB- feather pearls dangling from carved flowers. A carved Tahitian pendant on a keshi chain, also from Kojima, and a necklace I put together with Fiji pearls from Cees.

@jeg that Fijian strand - dreams!
@Pomelo I love that whole fit. Yes to casual pearls, yes to wearing pearls everywhere!

Today I popped on my new Tahitian ensemble for an important work meeting I was nervous about! I snapped up these dark Tahitians (most of mine tend to be on the light side so I wanted some true darks) from the recent PP midweek live and had them set in white gold (most of my necklaces now are in yellow so it was also my goal to find something to give more metal options). I’m super pleased with how they turned out!

Yesss there’s something about dark pearls set in WG - very alluring and mysterious!

Wore my SS silver/blue boulders today. They are the strand that took me many, many attempts to find as I wanted the pearls to be boulder-like in shape rather than round, circle, drop shaped or with tails.

I wore these to work today for a client meeting. This necklace is made from a pink freshwater rope I bought around 15 years ago. I had the rope broken into 3 strands (with enough for another rope left over) and added the onyx beads. I wear it as a jumbled torsade. I happened to find matching button stud earrings at Na Hoku recently.

I decided to actually wear a pair of Mom's mabe' earrings. These are swapsies from my sister. Ones she decided she didn't want. They're growing on me. The pearls themselves are beautiful.

Worn with The Swan pendant. I can never capture all the colors in this pearl. I bought it from Pacific Pearls and had it set by a jeweler. And I'm wearing a coin pearl ring from Kojima, and Mom's akoya ring.

Beautiful strands for your workdays, Syrie!

Your mom had quite a collection, BWeaves! How nice to be able to share back and forth with your sister.

A bracelet I put together with collected Robert Wan Tahitians from Ehret Designs, and a necklace I put together with collected Tahitians that are mostly color banded.
