Tahitian?

Hello Pearl peeps. I got this pearl thrifting. Would you think it is a Tahitian? It is almost 13mm. What is weird is that the chain does not slide through. Almost as if someone put crazy glue in the holes to keep it in position. Has anyone seen anything like this before?
Thanks in advance for any info.
Cheers.
Linda.

Are there any marks on the clasp? It could be a Tahitian, or maybe an Edison ... at worst, it's a shell pearl ...

925 Italy would be the chain. What is the length?

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is one of Honora's Ming pearl necklaces. Honora's Ming is their brand of Edison. It seems like Honora items often make their way to thrift stores but I don't know why.

Hi Linda! Glad you pop in every so often! The coloring and light blemishes look like Tahitian to me. Sometimes there are grommets glued on each drill hole which keep the chain from wearing against the pearl, but not always. I've never seen the chain glued before! I suppose someone could have decided to glue it themself. What a fun find, great size, too!

Thank you for your input ennui. I sure appreciate this wonderful forum. And Pattye; so nice to hear your kind and thoughtful voice after all these years. I hope we can meet again some day. Re the pearl; yes, I think I can see some type of very thin layer (grommet?) in the drill hole. But everything is covered in the “glue”. I’m not sure how to proceed. If I try to free up the pearl, I might make a mess. I will probably just leave it as is.
