My pearls

Thank you Jenny and 86Corvettegirl. The grey and white with leftover tahitians really did turn out well. I was a bit annoyed with my pearls since I really wanted a necklace like the one BN has, the almost black and white one. But my pearls were not of the same size, nor shape. Then I suddenly got an image in my head, at 5 am in my car going to work, that the pearls didn't have to have the same size. Just like one of Sarahs waterfall ropes. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I could of course order other pearls. But shipping often takes 1 month and I have the worst patience.

My baroque white south sea strand from Cees arrived. It's gorgeous, very high luster. 8.10-11.4mm. I knotted it with Beaders secret in ivory, had to order more ivory again, I wanted a fancy clasp for this one but don't have any at the moment. First Cees photos.

With 9.4mm south sea studs.

With my about 11-12mm south sea studs. These use to be dangly earrings but I didn't like the findings on them so I changed them.

Charlotta, I see no crappy-selfies in this thread! Nothing but fine! I can even see the diamond on your pendant.

Haha lisa c, they gets so blurry and the colors don't show up when I take selfies. I don't now what I do wrong. Maybe it's the bad winterlight. But thank you for the compliment.

Thank you SydK, I am quiet in love with my new south sea strand as well. I strung it as soon as I got home with it just so that I could wear it today. It's really beautiful.

Today I wore my new south sea strand from Cees and my 9.4mm white south sea studs.

Pilfered by kitten today: a new clasp, a small glass and an termometor. All later retrieved unharmed by me. She has a talent for finding stuff we didn't know we had...

Thank you JerseyPearl. You wouldn't now it but it's just about 20km to a bigger city (for sweden anyway), but it is on the country side.

Thank you Pearldreams. I agree about the size, it's so wearable. 12mm is the biggest size I'm confortable in unless it's a long rope. I remember when I first started bying pearls and only had graduated akoyas with maybe one pearl being 7-9,mm, I bought my 8mm (I think) akoya choker and I remember thinking that they were to big. Then I got use to them. I still think that my 13-15 mm ripples are a bit big.

Love this thread! The pearls, the snowy views...! And I cannot wait to see more of these old roses, I am really into those (and the Austin ones) too.

morella, I have some austinroses, but they don't grow as well as my old roses. I might have to change the soil, as I did with my old roses flower bed. Last summer was hard on all plants as well with almost 30C for 3 months and very little rain, this is not normal for sweden. I hope that this year is better for my flowers.

I found some rosephotos from last summer for you morella, mostly from the one day it rained...
