No problem Ingykiz. As I said in an earlier post, regular poster like yourself will have priority over the ghosts that lurk these forums. I think that's fair and no one has told me I can't do it that way.

Valeria, that link was for a french transit company called Chronopost, chrono as in time, lot's of it. Used them once but the saga discouraged me from a second time. Also FedEx is kind of it's own country almost. They have their own customs brokers in a lot of places but it's true that there is a strong need for a reliable transitor with reasonable fees.

Jeremy, Are the exotics going to be sold as necklaces or will they be in the form of other kinds of jewelry (pendants, earrings etc)? I remember there was some talk about it a while back.

I am sorry I have not kept up on this thread. As you can well imagine this month is a little chaotic at Pearl Paradise. As if we were not already busy enough the Tyra Banks show aired a rerun of the episode that featured our pearls on Saturday. I guess that was due to the writers strike. But it was completely unexpected. We do not usually shoot for national exposure two weeks before Christmas! But the pearls are still getting out!

I am not sure yet what we are going to do. We could delay the private offer and make it an exotic, exotic private offer, or just go the easy, classic route. Nearly all of the pearls arrived in temp strands despite my original 80/20 request (a little communication error) so that makes this somewhat limiting. We have to put our heads together to come up with something. We will probably not have that meeting until January 2nd.

No, the exotics are not on offer yet. I don't know if they will ever be public on PP. It really took a lot of effort just to collect what we did and we had to deal with quite a bit of resistance cherry picking only the exotics and foregoing all other material from each factory. So this will very likely be a one-time thing. Then again, after this we will need to come up with another idea anyway!

Since they are drilled, why not give a drop-down price option to select a temp strand or a finished strand w/findings. I'd rather make something myself.

BTW, Mia didn't get a chance to look at the other stuff? I'm interested cos' I'm keen for the bigger freshadamas to be back in stock. I'm doubly impressed you sent Mia on this trip specially for the exotics. The expenses are huge, not to mention the effort. She went during Thanksgiving too! No doubt the farmers aren't too happy ... PGers are though!

Since late summer a few other places have 'fancy' freshwater on offer. Now, those might not be the same thing as we are talking about here, there's just one way to tell. Really? Where? I have seen a few strands of the "exotics" at trade shows. I know Freeman had a couple of strands last year in Tucson. But the prices were astronomical - and that was wholesale.

You can be sure that just about everyone, in every segment of the pearl industry reads this forum.

Jeremy, that's amazing about the UPS truck! That truck won't ever have such a rich booty! I live in a resort community where we have 80 miles of golfcart paths. This week our UPS deliveries are coming via golf cart!
