Found this really pretty strand of 8-10mm (very) off round dyed freshwaters on eBay. I'm not so interested in roundness when there is a really lovely color (or range of colors) at hand. This is a doubled 32" strand.

By chance, in this lighting, they almost perfectly match the PP button studs.

Don't you love it?!

Gorgeous photo, too, exquisite colors :) hair, skin, looooove that shade of blue in your dress! If I remember correctly you have green eyes? The pearls must compliment your eyes well.

Thank you! Yes - I got them to match my eyes! I can't believe you remembered that! While there's good uniformity there's also quite a color range in the strand, with some more brown, and I really like that kind of organic quality that range gives it (which seems to me more fluid than what you get in a traditional multicolor strand). Also makes them match a wider variety of sister-shades, and creates great dimension.

I never would have thought I'd like green dyed pearls but yours look so organic-- as though, if pearls could be that color naturally, that is the color they would be.
Really nice!

I looked at your site too. You and your pearls are just gorgeous together! Made me think of glowing moss on sparkling rocks.

I thought of moss, too! And I admit I'm kind of susceptible to stuff called 'moss' colored, or even just once I make the association, it can be all over. I have these certain trigger words I'm always a little weak in the face of. 'Bourbon', 'sage', 'camel', 'olive', 'bordeaux'. It's a little ridiculous.

i totally get that! the word is aubergine, for me. i don't know why, i love that word and all that it means. especially in pearls. i have, two separate times, made unwise internet pearl purchases based solely upon that word in the description. however, there have been some happy aubergine experiences, so it's all good. :)

Yes, 'aubergine'! It's rather mysterious, what draws us to certain words and concepts. I'm inclined to think it is in some cases extremely straightforward, and in other cases extremely complicated. Never in between.

Fools for color. Yes yes yes.
