This has been one of my very favorite Facette issues. It has quite a bit of PEARL INFORMATION that I will sum up for you all:

Jennifer Heebner of the CPAA and AGTA wrote this very interesting article about the HIGH DEMAND for Akoya Pearls, leading to an 60-80% PRICE HIKE!

I personally met with Joshua & x Nick Israeliff during the Tucson Gem Show and they explained that the high demand from China has helped increase the cost and price of these beautiful pearls.

One of the points that are considered in this article is:

Programs, such as the oyster and pearl farming project, were impacted because of declining sales of products. "Round pearls are luxury items and people are not in the mood to be thinking about luxury during COVID and sales really plummeted”.
