Shopping on big Fairs like Hong Kong has some disadvantages.
First the most beautiful pearls are gone already when the harvests come in.
Second it is so much nicer to select pearls on tables with white cloth with windows on the North as on Fairs the artificial lights make pearls look nicer than they are in real daylight.
Today harvests to select from were from Robert Wan in Tahiti and you can see from the luster that they are special.
Size 10-11 mm for the 7 pearls on one photo, 12-13 mm for the photo's with 2 and 3 pearls and the biggest surprise was the 15-16 mm Tahitian drop, which first I took for a South Sea pearl. Almost white, with light green, blue and pink hues. Clean and rare.
Was a good day.
