I became a little natural pearl obsessed and racked up the purchases. My first strand, if you saw my post in the natural thread, was deemed restricted by the shipper eBay uses for international buys and isn’t coming. My second natural buy arrived from New Zealand today at the work. The rest are still en route. Here is my first natural strand

I confess I didn’t grasp how small a non round 4.5mm was until I saw these. Thankfully they were cheap. I will post my other buys as they arrive:)

Thank you! Funnily, when I started this thread today I thought two other things were showing up in my home mailbox and they didn’t. Guess it’s a delayed palooza ;)

They are lovely! Most of the naturals I have seen are pretty small, but very beautiful. Congrats!!!

They're very pretty & feminine. Being small & not as heavy as large pearls, they should be easier to wear in the warmer, humid months of Summer, too.

Love this strand. Very pretty and different from the ones we get to see. Very wearable too due to the size and would be lovely for layering!

I got my first natural strand earlier this year, and they are small, but wonderful. Yours are delightful. Thanks for sharing, and enjoy wearing them.

No new pearls in yesterday’s mail but my new stringing supplies arrived and I repurposed two untreated baroque akoya strands into a rope.

So where are you all finding your naturals?

This strand came from a site in New Zealand I found by a lucky Google search. The others I am waiting on came from Etsy and EBay. I wound up with two unexpected days off last week and got bored lol

What a wonderful way to cure boredom. Love your restrung baroque akoyas, too!

No new pearl arrivals but I used some of the cream BS thread meant for my coming Mississippi strand to refresh a strand I got a month ago at the start of my pearl collecting rebirth.

These were a less than happy ebay buy that looked online like a lovely strand of old akoyas with pink and blue overtones, they arrived looking like early 2000s CFWP that had been dipped in coffee and given an “antiqued” barrel clasp. The thread was so gross I refused to try them on.

Before

Since I wasn’t attached to them I was feeling experimental and used the salt sludge to clean them. It not only did the pearls, it cleaned the clasp too! Once they dried I put them on my new cream BS and while I still think they could be ivory FW, you have a shot at getting me to believe they might be ivory vintage akoyas.

After check out the clasp too.

Stuff arrived!

This is a river pearl with a gold cap. It glows in person like a fairy wing

Next I opened the suspected Mississippi River pearl strand. Bigger pearls than expected and the clasp to die for

Finally I opened this antique pearl drop pendant. Seller said it’s natural but didn’t know if fresh or salt water. It has amazing overtones

Aerinha, what a gorgeous plethora of pearls!! Those pendants are stunning & the clasp on the necklace is amazing!! You did good!!

I'm not much of a river pearl fan but that pendant it gorgeous. And the colors on that last pendant are beautiful! And you're right about that clasp! What are the metal and stones? What great buys!!!

The seller said “onyx, sparkly clear stones and gold filled clasp”. The stone is blue so sapphire (real or created) or spinel and the clear are rose cut diamonds I think. Clasp is silver topped gold or gold fill. It’s not stamped so I don’t know for sure.
