How to mount un-drilled South Sea 12mm pearls without ruining them

Just purchased two gorgeous 12mm SS Pearls to be used at the end of long drop earrings. To keep them secure, must the tops be drilled and a post inserted? Or, will glue hold well enough? I don't want to worry that I'll lose a pearl every time they are worn. Having trouble finding people here who know enough about the mounting methods.

They need to be drilled and posts inserted. The glue will not old and you will lose the pearls otherwise!
