This isn't really an ebay item, but maybe this is a good thread to post to for all our "discoveries." Don't know anything about this, but someone did a lot of work.

Wow, that is one seriously impressive wad of pearls! A lot of work, certainly, but I feel kind of sorry for the little guys who are hiding inside or underneath. Though perhaps they're shy.

I've seen this necklace before. Somewhere in the forum I think. I posted something about wondering if it was multistrand or wire wrapped
cannot find it now - anyone help?

I saw a necklace like this at the Tahitian Pearl Market in Honolulu. It's not a torsade but strung like a rope Pikake lei. I don't remember what they were charging at the Tahitian Pearl Market, probably because it was way too much to think about.

Ummmm...

Ummmm...

I'm sorry, I love pearls, but this strand is really too much of a good thing...

Pikake is Hawaiian for jasmine. It literally means peacock. The Hawaiian princess Kaiulani was fond of this flower and the bird. Another source states that she named the flower “pikake” after the beautiful peacocks roamed her Waikiki gardens.

Here is a pikake lei rope.
