Hello everyone, this is my first post. I've always adored pearls although that went into a bit of hiatus over the past few years. In the past 6 months, however, it has seen a full revival!

Here are my pearl necklaces. I've got some pendants too but those are back home in Singapore.

This one is 9.2 x 11.1mm Natural Color Light Peacock Green (slight pink overtone on some pearls) Tahitian Cultured Pearl.

It is a big longer than my usual necklaces but the good thing is, I can layer it with my other necklaces e.g. this multi-coloured strand:

Here is a 10 x 11mm Metallic Silver Baroque Tahitian Strand.

Here it is with the matching earrings - bad shot, it was overcast yesterday plus I looked weird due to the strange angle hence the cropped out face...haha...

Here is the 8.4 x 10mm Silvery Strand. It's quite different from the other silvery grey strand IRL. This one is a sharper silver while the other necklace is a softer silvery grey.

This one is a 10.7 x 13.5mm necklace with natural color browns, coppers, greens, grays and silver. The pearls are medium to heavy circle pearls with a medium to high lustre and measure 17 ?" in length.

My cream white SS pearls 11.5mm to 15.25mm.

With semi-matching white SS pearl dangles. The dangles are jackets that are interchangeable with any stud earrings.

Here they are worn with diamond clusters

It goes with both dark and light pearl necklaces. Here it is with my white necklace.

Welcome to Pearl-Guide. Thanks for sharing the pearls. I'm probably the least likely among us to be commenting here but am impressed by the richness of your creamy white SS strand, and the fantastic versatility of the SS dangles.

Congratulations!

Diadiva,
welcome to the forum. You are obviously a lover of Tahitian pearls and South Seas. Some of them are really big. Fine examples of different colours and overtones. I love your dangles, especially the black/white variation.

How about Freshwaters?

Welcome to the forum!

You seem to love Tahitians!

I don't agree with the description on this one (re luster and shape):
This one is a 10.7 x 13.5mm necklace with natural color browns, coppers, greens, grays and silver. The pearls are medium to heavy circle pearls with a medium to high lustre.

But the other Tahitians look nice.

I'll comment too about those earrings. A fabulous way to get versatility out of them. I am appreciative of your collection of Tahitians as well - you prove that it does make sense to have different variations, eg: multicolor, silver, circle etc..

Beautiful collection, and what a lovely neck you have, my dear... (sorry, inspired by all those vampire books and movies...).

Thanks for sharing!

Sheri (another great lover of Tahitians...)

Thanks for the welcome, everyone!

I love freshwater pearls too and have a number of freshwater pearls bought a while back when I was in China and the Philippines and will post them in a separate thread.

Thanks for the compliment on my neck, la_corsetiere. It looks good because I lifted my neck for the photos...haha.

Jeremy, I was quoting the description provided by the seller of my multi-coloureds. Why do you say you don't agree with that? I'm curious to know. Thanks.

Thanks, Pattye. I've posted some on another thread. I'll need to take better shots of FW pearls when I'm in Singapore.

Here is one of my pearl rings bought about 5 years ago.

This is a mabe ring given to me about 12 years ago.

I love the neck shots where you can better see the differences between the strands. Very pretty. And welcome to the forum! ;)

Jeremy, I was quoting the description provided by the seller of my multi-coloureds. Why do you say you don't agree with that? I'm curious to know. Thanks.

No problem!

The strand seems to be a combination of semi-baroque, some ovals, some buttons and drops, but only one circle pearl that I see (circle = covering 30% of the surface or more). So it isn't a circle-pearl strand, let along a medium to heavy circle strand.

I think it is possible that the seller meant moderate to heavy blemishing, not circles. I would agree with that if that was the intention.

For the luster, when you see the light reflection and it starts to fuzz out to the sides, this indicates a medium to lower level of luster, not medium to high. This is most apparent in the lighter-color pearls that show slightly off-green.

Thanks for explaining this in detail, Jeremy. That makes a lot of sense. I'm really hoping to learn more about pearls from this forum.

Thanks for the compliment, GemGeek.
