Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Thank you freshpearl and eolian! Yummy Akoya and SS, eolian! You look so Springy! Eolian, the slides would be a fantastic treat when you escape from Ban Island. I thought the slides they had made into the pendants were kind of big, so I went with the white gold earrings and took them apart. They had the components, so I could’ve chosen pearls to set in yellow gold, but I just liked the coloring that was already made up and I got an extra slide by buying the earrings. The necklace had 5 slides. I really miss that store. I had a few other pendants made there in past years.

Happy early birthday, CatMom! What a beautiful gift! I am drawn to green, too, but really, I love all colors of Tahitians. They are my favorite pearl.

Silver Tahitian strand from PP several years ago. I put all the other pieces together. The shorter necklace is made of wildly baroque Akoya pearls I bought at the Kojima studio. The small blue Tahitians in the bracelet are from JNB.

Your earrings are very much like a necklace I have. Tourmalines? Mine is tourmalines with 2 SSPs.

BWeaves, WOW, such nice pendants. Now I see where your profile picture pendant came from; Cool. The pearl with the emerald (??) crystals inside is stunning. Absolutely stunning.
It's an early little h pendant when Hisano Shepherd first started stuffing soufflé pearls with gemstones. These are emeralds. The bail is an enhancer, so I can hang it off any pearl strand. It's a gorgeous piece.

Thanks so much, BWeaves and CatMom! Ooooo, looking forward to seeing your new pendant, BWeaves.

Earrings and a keshi necklace I made, with a pearly stuffed seashell pendant from Kojima.

Reminds me of my last visit with my granddaughter (age 4). She said in her baby voice, "Oooo gam-ma, I like your pearl. Did you find it on the beach?" I could only respond, No, sweetie, I wish! My granddaughters are always finding shells on the beach and bringing them to me so I can string them into necklaces. So sweet.
LOVE this beautiful shell with the pearls inside. How creative. Are they glued or wired?

Thank you, CatMom and MOPTrumpet! CatMom, yes, tourmaline. During the pandemic, I entertained myself by making a ton of dangly pearl earrings. And I mean, a ton… The coloring of your necklace with your top is such a happy mix! I feel the need to hit the beach. My favorite place. Thanks MOPTrumpet. Seashells and pearls are about my favorite things ever, plus flowers. Probably why I love Hawaii so much, well, and the food and snacks and spinner dolphins. And the sun and beach, and, and… lots to love. This particular juvenile conch shell is from Sanibel Island. It’s a type of adhesive, not wire.

BWeaves, how fun to see your collection of pendants all together! And the names!:D I don’t think I’d remember if mine all had names. Let’s see, today I’ll call you…

I bought these feather pearls from a visit to the Kojima studio. Fuji sat with me and patiently went through several cards of these beautiful pearls. The freshwater pendant is also from Kojima and is on a freshwater keshi chain I made.

OMG JEG, Love the keshi chain and you picked out all the best feather pearls. It's gorgeous.

I keep eyeing the feather necklace on Kojima. Finger must not slip. There's also a new harvest strand on Kamoka that caught my eye.

BWeaves, what a treat to see so many of your pendants again! The new Queen certainly holds her own, and is very lovely :)

ALL your pearly outfits are gorgeous Jeg, but that fresh white spring color clothing combo and those Feather pearls ... stunning !

Today I'm wearing some peachy/pinky/lavendar freshwaters. I like to think of them as my spring/summer pearls even though we have a freeze warning and are still in sweaters here, lol. It's currently 39 degrees out!

Thank you, BWeaves! It was a beautiful collection of feather pearls. I love the neutral metal-like colors they have. Thanks, Cathy! Using the same dress for this pic, too. Lovely freshwaters, CatMom! You look very summery/springy even though your weather isn’t cooperating. Of course my attention went to your cowrie coaster.;)

These are vintage Akoya from Japan that belonged to my mom. One of my mom’s aunts gave her a long rope of Akoya. I remember a long time ago, she had it split and made into two shorter strands. She gave the other strand to my sister and this was the one she wore all the time. It really needs to be re-knotted and cleaned, but I’ve been too lazy to get to it.

JEG Love a classic white akoya rope. Very interesting earrings. I like them.

Catmom: Really pretty freshwaters. My mother always had summer jewelry and winter jewelry. Some pieces just work better with summer clothing and some with winter clothing. Be it color, or style, or how hot or cool the necklace felt around the neck.

Thank you! I do the same thing. Lots of dark colors in the winter and lighter, bright colors in the spring/summer.

Thanks Jeremy and BWeaves. They are still quite wearable. I caved and re-knotted it, although it draped better with the loose knots.:34:BWeaves, the earrings were also from Japan. The findings are interesting. A mix of delicate with a little edge, but light and easy to wear. I have a picture somewhere of my mom wearing them together, and probably more than that.

A golden SS strand from Kojima, with a golden SS mixed rope from PP Ruckus.

Oh those are so gorgeous jeg!

Well, I made a huge mistake and bought my first Kamoka pearl. It puts everything else I have to shame. I have a feeling I'm going to be going far, far down this rabbit hole. When I saw this ring, the color of the pearl just grabbed me but IRL it's the luster that does the grabbing. My pictures don't do it any justice at all. Plus the people from Kamoka are wonderful. I will have to do a Tahitian family photo shoot sometime.

What a stunning ring. It seems to change color with the different lighting, as Tahitians do. Setting is really nice too.

It really does. Sometimes it's a cherry pink, other times very green. Kamoka describes it as having a bright cherry pink body with a flash of gold and blue to the center and an intense green glow. It's almost a perfect match to my watch.

That's a beautiful pearl with great color! I love the way it changes with the light.
