Tahitian blizzard projects

beautiful necklace, Jersey Pearl! I have done a similar transition with an old circle necklace in FW pearls. But I really like the variety of shapes and textures and using Tahitians! Nice work!!

We didn't have a blizzard, but we did have a small snow storm of about 5" this morning...thankfully, though, it is melting nicely! Crazy weather, as it was close to 60 here yesterday.

I made this since I didn't feel like going out in the slop just yet IMG_3041.jpgIMG_3042.jpgIMG_3044.jpgIMG_3045.jpg

The pearls range in size from 8.3mm to 10.8mm. I used 24 gauge half hard 14k wire, and the two little stones near the clasp (also 14k) are moss aquas. The pearls are from Jac, and the findings from Rio.
eta: since you can also see my earrings, they are Tahitian drops set into the blossom finding from Pearl Paradise (I LOVE this setting!!!)

So colorful and gorgeous! Now that's the way to pass the winter- playing with pearls from Tahiti. *swoons*

I have those same earrings and out of all my pearls, I wear them the most.

Those were a great way to procrastinate shoveling/snow-blowing! The colors are beautiful!

We got 12" of snow. They said the storm was an "overproducer" Um, yes-- considering that initially they told us we were getting just 1-3" !!

Lovely pearls!!! I was going to ask what gauge wire you used and am glad you posted the specs! I like the stone at the end too, I bet it makes it easier to close the clasp. You're going to have to open a store pretty soon!

JerseyPearl, another lovely necklace ... I especially like the moss aqua stones near the clasp, to give a little extra room to maneuver the clasp ... nice touch!

JerseyPearl! Love your new wire-wrapped strand! Will you be wearing your new knotted peacock strand together with this wire wrapped circle strand? I've actually been thinking about making a wire wrapped strand because Victoria Grayson has layered such combos in the past. But I just haven't gotten around to actually making a wire wrapped strand.

Oooh, I love that look...I haven't gotten around to stringing the balance of the peacock circles just yet...I am still fiddling with components for the tassel attachment. I'd like to make it removable, so I'm leaning toward two separate strands with fold over clasps that can connect to a loop and then the tassel would hang from the loop as well. But then I did find a really pretty filagree ball that would work above the tassel, but that would have to be stationary. I do like the look of the long wire wrapped piece, which she appears to have doubled. I also toyed with doing a long wire wrap (the one I did is at 16.5") but I think I'd have to bump up to 22 gauge and it would be a heavy piece, so I'd have to use a heavy duty clasp. Decisions...decisions...
eta: I just tried the circled wire piece with the smooth circles I strung the other day...honestly, I think I need a longer piece to balance, so more motivation to decide on how to do the rope!

Gorgeous wire-wrapped Tahitians JP! Each of those pearls is so pretty! And I seriously envy your (and Purranha's) creative ability.

Nice JP! I have some small amethysts so I need to put them to work! Are you using spacers between the pearl and stones?
