A Year of Pearls in the Life of a Pre-K Teacher:

I agree with what several of you have already said about most people having no idea about pearls or really any kind of fine jewelry. It's pretty disheartening!

Most people don't know about pearls. But that's okay-- we can still wear our pearls for our own pleasure. :)

Really, I think most people only know about the things that happen to interest them.

People collect all sorts of things. My husband used to collect antique firearms and knew all about those, while I knew nothing. He sold the firearms after our daughter was born, and now it's antique pocket knives. Some of them go for shocking prices, but to me they all look alike.

Art Deco era triple golden akoya.

Ooo, please tell me about your triple strand necklace. Size, length, pearl type, and source. Not that I'm lusting after it or anything.

I bought it from Paul here on Pearl-Guide! The clasp is just gorgeous, too:

One of my favorites BAS! Love it with those earrings :)

So glad you posted the clasp of that awesome triple. It is a favorite of mine as well, after the madamas and the round WSSs.

Love it. Thank you for the extra information.

Forgive my ignorance, but who is Paul?

Thank you all for the info about the triple strand. I'm a sucker for multiple strands of pearls. They just feel so luscious on and they look great.

Pearl Dreams -- thanks for posting the link!!!

Thanks, everyone!

Yesterday's pearls on today's shirt (didn't get a chance to take a picture yesterday).
