  • Pearls with gold paint

There isn't much information but I thought these were breathtaking. Can you imagine a very large pearl with the leaves design, hanging from a long gold chain?

Just beautiful...and a great way to be creative with less than perfect (or except for this blemish, perfect) pearls. I love the blue green one with the leaves.

May be I'm wrong! sorry! but as for me it is a vandalism to paint over good pearl!

Naan, I am thinking that they must paint over blemishes on otherwise very nice pearls.

Lady_Disdain, thanks you for sharing it, very interesting!

Naan, I hardly would call it vandalism - I mean, if it makes the pearl look attractive and remarkable, why not?))

Technical question. Any idea o what does the paint consist of? Is it karat-gold based or just paint?...

Dear girls! I'm agree! If it paint over blemishes and with real gold - it's ok!

Those are gorgeous. I wonder how well the paint holds up to friction.

It is a lacquer based and uses karat gold, from what I read but I dunno about the durability. I wouldn't put one on a ring but earrings or pendants may be fine. Anyone want to try it and see?

Oh, interesting, thank you, Lady D. I thought it might be thin sheets of gold glued on somehow.
