What kind of pearls are these, if they are pearls?

First off, thanks for any and all info and help.

I don't know a thing about these. I was doing some work for someone one day and they came out and gave me these to give to my wife. She has not worn them because they are to heavy for her liking. I can't find a ruler or I would tell you the size.

Based on the size of the ear wire, those are really big. They could be dyed pearls, but I suspect they are artificial because they are perfectly round. Welcome to Pearl Guide.

Hi Tim,

To find out if it's real pearls or man-made, try rub two of them gently together or one against a tooth. If they feel smooth, they are fake pearls. If they feel slightly gritty, they would be real, cultured pearls.
