My mother passed 5 years ago today. I usually take out her belongings and reminisce and generally feel "closer" when I handle her things. This year I went through her jewelry roll and happened upon some beautiful jewelry, but one piece in particular seemed to be special. She had commented way back when about finally paying off her pearls, and I think these are the ones...

Info & question:
My mother bought this 16-inch strand of 8.5-9mm pearls in Honolulu, Hawaii on 7/6/1996 from JJ Yamaoka jewelry shop (per original receipt & certificate). Can anyone translate the language from the certificate? I have an idea of the value based on the receipt, but feel free to comment on that as well, as the receipt seems a bit exorbitant.

Sorry for your loss!

Shape = round shape

Color transparency = non-transparent, silver white

Luster = pearl luster (basically the pearls have luster)

Flourescence - the pearls have fluorescence

Magnification - there is no evidence of radiation treatment or color treatment

Unfortunately the certificate doesn't tell you much about the quality, and from the photo it looks like the color treatment part may be incorrect (they look pinked). But the strand does appear to be of good quality.

maybe it's the crappy iPhone photo :)

The receipt indicates more than 4 figures. Did my mom get robbed?

I'll ask the wife to take better macro shots, I'm photo-tarded
