The Shirley?

I was watching a dvd of Boston Legal series one and Candice Bergen (Shirley Schmitt ) wore an amazing long big white pearl necklace wound round her neck several times with a big gold and pearl cross resting over the top of the pearl windings. This could have been a brooch pinned through the necklace or a pendant, I could not tell
Anyone else spotted this? It looked fabulous, and not too formal as the windings were a bit haphazard, not arranged
