Hi, I'm new to this forum and I know nothing about pearls. I was hoping some of you experts could/would assist me in identifying these pearls.

So back story is really simple, I bought a storage unit at a online auction and one of the items in the unit was this pearl necklace. I rubbed them along my teeth to test if they were real and to my surprise they were very gritty indicating that they are... So the clasp says .925 on one side and on the other side it says "GCC" or "GOC" it's rather difficult to tell. And then "ST" below the G..C marking.. heres pictures. Any help, expertise, knowledge is appreciated. I'd love to give them to my fiance but I just want to know more about them first.

You've got a strand of strand of Chinese freshwater pearls. The clasp has the standard hallmark .925 for sterling silver. I'm not sure what the other hallmark might be.

Happy to hear! :)

Very nice layering mantan09 and welcome to our Community!

I agree with jshepherd freshwater pearls, sterling silver clasp.

Thank you so much everyone! I am very behind and apologize for the blanket thank you. Eolian, I am really enjoying the journey of the Bliss strand. You are doing such a wonderful job of blending and combining the pearls into such an appealing strand. And then there are the keshi:p and the Takahashi pearls!:love:

Welcome Mandan and Qm1k! You look fabulous in your layers, Mandan! Qm1k, your freshwater pearls will look very nice with a little bath and restringing!

Wearing a multicolor Tahitian rope from an Intergem show, with blue Tahitian studs from Takahashi.

For everyone's reference, the SS pearls (as well as the sapphire pendant) were from Jewelmer in the Philippines. Not sure if you are all familiar with them. I think they have one of the best selections in the world.

That is a GORGEOUS ring! And the bracelet is beautiful...but I am oogling the ring! Luscious golden dripping all over...

jeg Gorgeous T rope - I really love the contrasting colors and it pairs beautifully with your Takahashi studs!
mantan09 I agree with Douglas, your ring is simply stunning with that fantastic 24k color! Your bracelet is also lovely... Jewelmer does have such incredible GSS pearls (that are on my wishlist!)

Finally finished wire wrapping the bracelet I wore today with WSS keshi from Druzy. Paired with a freshadama ring from PP; I don't usually mix pearl types, but these seemed to work together.
