Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

How fun! I’ve seen Misha Hawaii at some events when I was in Hawaii. I haven’t purchased anything yet but I love looking.

Red, Sunseeker and I met up at SFO yesterday and drove over to the Acqua Hotel in Mill Valley. This will be the setting for this year’s Pearls By The Bay. It’s amazing how we’ve been able to coordinate our flights from all over the US and arrive so close together. It’s worked out for several years now, even going back to the Ruckus days. Just a handful of us yesterday and of course I forgot to take pictures at dinner, but I’ll remember tonight.

Heading across the Golden Gate Bridge, and new Bunny’s inaugural trip- a view from our ground floor room with a walking path along the river.

I'm hope I can zoom in on Pearls on the Bay tomorrow.

Wearing white pearls today to my weaving guild meeting. Long Hanadama rope and golden South Sea tin-cup from PP. My first akoya rope from 1982. Snowman and Summer Rainbow pendants from Kojima on my own hoop earrings. Mom's vintage akoya ring and a coin pearl ring from Kojima.

My own handwoven shawl made from hand dyed, handspun PEARL FIBER (rayon made from pearls instead of from bamboo or cotton), and then embroidered with 2 mm rice pearls from Wen Pearls.

My goodness -- you have outdone yourself today.

Thanks so much, Pella, Syrie, Pattye and Pomelo!

Oooo, Syrie, what a fantastic start! Your very first post is fabulous. I’m happy to see you join us to play!

Two strands I put together with Tahitians from CMW and JNB. Metal discs made by a San Francisco artist that I added Akoya to, and my new bracelet from Kojima.

Jeg, I look at those pearls and the first thought that hits my mind is.. Royalty. Man, did you realize that what you are wearing, back in the day, would only be reserved for royalty? Some of them might even envy this strand!

I’m wearing Tahitian keshis today. This is a combo I wear pretty frequently. The shorter necklace is from Pearl Society. The longer necklace is from a PP live event, and the earrings are from Misha Hawaii, with a boost: I took the drop pearls on the ends from one of the strands I posted yesterday and added them to the earrings to make them more attractive.
Those are so pretty and lustrous. The second photo looks kind of like finger smudge on the lense though.

Yes, this glare effect coming off the keshis was something I could not control with my phone camera. It wasn't a smudge on the lens. I must have taken 8 photos trying to get rid of the effect, but I couldn't make the adjustment. There was just something about the silverness of the pearls that created this auralike effect.

It was Barbara!

Hello Everyone! I've been absent on social media for many years now -- since my late husband died at such a young age 8 years ago. I just lost my appetite for posting. But I never lost my appetite for pearls. They are a constant source of joy, beauty and strength. I wear them every single day. I don't feel complete without wearing pearls.

I rewatched the video above and my heart was racing again remembering how I was feeling making the decision to pull the trigger. I never imagined I'd own such an exquisite necklace. I consider it a "night piece" and am very careful to only wear conch pearls outside in the evenings. I bought it along with a unique conch/diamond/ruby pendant I'm crazy about during that livestream.

I am traveling now, but will post pictures of both when I'm home!

BAS!!!!!! Welcome back! I'm so glad you're the one who got that glorious double strand of conch pearls. It's a treasure.

My sister's back for a visit, and we're swapping some of Mom's jewelry back and forth again. This time my sister gave me the pearl earrings my mother wore every day back in the 1960s. Double pearl earrings were very popular back then. Very Mad Men. These are small akoyas and they're still in pretty good shape for being worn every day for at least 15 years straight and then sitting in a jewelry box for decades.

The base of the pearls has some black discoloration that won't come off. It shows as a ring of green black between the pearl and the gold cup the pearl sits in. I think the black ring is either from the glue or the alloy in the rose gold.

The earrings are very light weight and very comfortable. As Hisano would say, "They're very sweet."

Okay — deep breath; I’m going to post my first photos of a necklace. This is a south sea harvest strand I commissioned from Cees about 2 months ago. On my neck I’m wearing it doubled. It also comes apart into 2 strands when I want to wear it shorter.
Absolutely gorgeous necklace! I was sceptical with the white/light gold SS when I firstly saw the necklaces of that type, but the more I scrolled the more I fell in love with this look combined with light clothes! And wearing them with silky-textured shirt if absolutely celestial and divine. I do something like that on my own as well, only with the silvery-blue tahitians!

Hooray! My first saltwater necklace and it's tahitian one. Also my first attempt in stringing (the first photo) done with the guide of magnificent Pearl Dreams.
I was scary to tug too tight, so after several days thread stretched and I needed to restreched with a firmer approach. My inexperinnce lead to tree pearls perished (only one from pressure, two others because I was silly enought to let knot to slip within the pearl with the remnants of glue and it was a deadstuck situation). Luckily, I expected something like this to happen, so I purchased slightly more pearls that I need.

I did my second try with the classic japenese method and shortened the length slightly so it would match this particular blouse. I am really happy with light-blue-silver to greenish ombre and pearls elongating into drops to create this non-standart look. I'll left regular look for other necklaces, this one supposed to be artistic 😇. Photos 2 and 3 is how necklace is now, quite tight, but I am sure after a couple of days it will be just right.

Utterly gorgeous.

It felt like a pink pearl day. The pink pearl drops and pink keshi choker are more Misha Hawaii pieces. The bracelet stack is a combo from Misha, Te Hotu Mana (silver Tahitian keshi), and a little Singaporean jewelry maker called Glitz and Love. I love the oil slick coloring on the bigger pink keshi.

@jeg I do love Misha Hawaii’s designs! She’s sort of known for her rainbow strands and rainbow designs. This rainbow keshi bracelet is one of my favorites. The pistachio are enhanced and other colors are natural.

Also, I had to show this adorable book I found at a library book sale for my kids. I am obsessed with the illustrations, and the story is so cute.
