Cream-colored Oval Pearl Necklace from Thailand -- Need an Analysis!

Hi there!

I received this pearl necklace as a gift, and it doesn't fit around my neck, unfortunately, and I'm not much of a pearl person anyway. I was told that they were purchased in Thailand, and that the pearls are real. Rubbing slightly between two of them causes some friction, so I assume they are real (although, I am a complete newbie when it comes to pearls, so excuse my naivete). What do you guys think? What kind of value would they have?

The pearls are real and are originally from China. They are Chinese freshwater pearls. They are ringed potato pearls and don't have much value, unfortunately. Here is something similar.
