A gift of pearls

I was given these pearls as a gift a few years ago. I have no knowledge on pearls at all and i'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out what kind they are etc..

They are very smooth and shiny, beyond that I have little to go on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, we really do need better photos! Those are out of focus, and the black background reduces the luster.

Try taking them against a white paper towel. Get a few close up shots too. Tell us what markings are on the clasp and earring findings.

Rub 2 of the pearls against each other lightly and see if they feel a little gritty (real nacre) or smooth (imitation.)
