Hello, everybody, Manuel Nava, Production Director of Perlas del Mar de Cortez, wrote a small review of our last two harvest and I want to share it with you.
The harvests of June 2020 and June 2021 were the most successful in the history of the Pearl Farm of the Sea of Cortez, both in number of pearls harvested (11,900 pearls adding the two seasons) and the size of the pearls which reached 9.5 mm (in 2020) with approximately 10% of them surpassing the 10 mm threshold, size has always been a limitation for these pearls, we are very happy to share with you a picture of the best 10 baroque pearls from the harvest which we stored with all the details from the graft. The sizes are proportional in the picture.

Good news Guillermo. Congratulations.

12.97 x 15.46!!! Totally shocked!!

Are these biggest harvests related to less human activities due to Covid or the technologies have been improving?

Congrats! Looking forward to seeing new pearls on the website! :arms:

That these two harvests (2020 and 2021) were going to be good was clear since 2017. You realize that when you see the size of juveniles, they were bigger and spikier than other groups at the same age. I would like to think that pearl oyster care that we give has improved and that we will have good harvests from now on, but there is no certainty there.
I wish I knew why those two groups were so much better than the average.

No, it´s not related to less activities, environment was good wit the pearl form while we were growing these pearls, and I think our drafters are getting better with the experience

This is wonderful news, Sea of Cortez! Really beautiful pearls, incredible. I know the round are most valuable traditionally, but my heart belongs to that big oval one with the hammered finish ... OOOH, that's just glorious! Congratulations :)

Wonderful, wonderful news and such beautiful pearls. I look forward to seeing more Sea of Cortez in person, once the pandemic slows down. Thank you for sharing with us.

Cathy - I cannot disagree with your favorite. Beautiful!
