Why is it so hard to find a long necklace of Golden South Sea Keshis?

I started collecting golden South Sea keshi pearls more than 20 years ago. it took me ten years to put this necklace together. As the saying goes, "I wish I knew then, what I know now".

That’s amazing! I want one too! I’m only just getting into non-round pearls these days. I bet that strand has a lovely heavier weight to it if the pearls are not nucleated as well.

Would you perhaps say these are technically more like baroque? I always find the whole keshi vs baroque a bit tricky, but from my understanding keshi are not nucleated and flatter in form?

Interestingly, my SA Mikimoto showed me some strands where the baroques did take flatter shapes too, but she did confirm those were all nucleated. The black south sea are a bit more even in shape, I do love a longer strand!

it's only thepearlguy on Instagram that I've ever seen with a lot of Golden South Sea and Tahitian keshis. i've never bought from him but maybe he can make a long strand.

A great suggestion but I actually did ask the Pearl Guy last week and he said he only had the SSG keshi necklace you posted . . . which is not really what I had in mind. It’s too dramatic for me though it would look great on someone else!

Is it the length you wanted? Clasp? It appears to be an unfinished strand -- can you return it? (I try not to buy anything I can't return.)

It is a 16 inch unknotted strand. Seller has only one available. So, it should translate into a 17-18 necklace, depending on the clasp and how I knot. Not the length I wanted, but I doubt I can ever find an affordable long strand on the normal market. The single strand, even doubled in price, is still less than half the cost of the Gump's strand of SSG keshis. Seller says they do not accept returns but they will get a GRC Certification. Decisions, decisions.
