Wendy, you are actually quite right! The comments I received when I was chatting with others were exactly what you have sad! Super-absorbing diapers with a bad breast implant. Nevertheless, only a good designer will be able to transform the baroque shape into a beautiful jewelry. Is it really worth the time and resources? We shall see. Giving up the possibility of round pearls for large baroque, let's see if this reasoning will justify.

I am going to guess that you are based in Asia, either Hong Kong or mainland China. In Western markets, keshi pearls and baroque shapes are very much appreciated and valued, often more so than the rounds. This is not the case in China, which is where these first experiments debuted - definitely a mistake in my opinion.

I don't have a name for them yet. We should have a contest for one My friend Doug Fiske (retired Pearls course writer for GIA) have discussed a potential name in length, but really didn't come up with one. In the office we started referring to them as "Provoked Baroques," because they look like accidental giant keshi but are actually beaded baroques.
