I'm not sure if I have ever posted this. I had been lusting for months over a necklace in the Ross Simons catalog that I couldn't afford. Eventually, it disappeared from the catalog, so I made my own version. They both had pink heart pearls, I remember that, for sure, but the hearts in their necklace were much better than mine. Mine has fluorite, peridot, rose quartz, and citrine beads interspersed between the pearls and it's attached with crimps and a plated toggle set. I think this is from around 2003 or 2004. I go crazy for the combination of pink and green! :)

Oh Pattye, some of them are just triangles or have cat ears! The pearls on the necklace I wanted were of higher quality so that the shapes were much better, but yes, these do have nice luster. I still adore the necklace and just came across it today after not seeing it for a long time. :)

Pretty color combination, GemGeek-- and I have a bit of sentimental feeling about my early pieces, too. They're the ones I learned on.

Thanks! I did learn on this one, but there was a non-pearl predecessor. My first bead necklace was made of beautiful dyed wood beads, arranged in a rainbow pattern alternating with brown and tan beads. It was strung on ordinary white elastic cord that was tied in a square knot that was entirely visible, but I had long hair, so I didn't care. It had a big turquoise-glazed rough ceramic bead at the center. I was a teenager and I bought the beads at a store in a mall in the area around Oakland, CA, called Beadazzled. That store set my teenaged heart on fire. It was filled with loose beads of every description and you could buy as many or as few as you wanted. My memories of the beads there are still vivid after all these years. I mentioned it before and I remember someone here also has been there. :)

Beautiful execution. The clasp goes so well with everything. I think it looks very sharp with the fluorite. Is Beadazzled still there? I would like to visit if I am in the area.

Sadly, Beadazzled is long gone. But if they were there today, I can only imagine all the pearls they would have. :) And thanks, I really like the variations in the fluorite.
