Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Thanks Syrie, it is the life!;)

This morning I was watching some of the Pearl Harbor commemorative ceremony on the news and the pearls of the moment were white strands and studs. Classy and appropriate.

Bunny has been checking out some of the decorations and gardens-

And met up with a gingerbread hula girl. Just a temporary friend since she will probably be a snack later today.

I went to four different craft fairs and markets this weekend. I love the local jewelry crafters, as their work incorporates pearls and shells. I usually don’t ask to take pics since it’s their creative work. I didn’t think about asking if I could take pics of what they were wearing until I was at the end. The first one is a simple leather necklace with T’s-

This woman made her ring, floating necklace and earrings. The earrings are big hoops with a Tahitian keshi dangle and little white keshi wired across the hoops.

Courtroom pearls yesterday. Most of my clients are in very serious trouble, charged with various serious federal crimes. But at least I can try to class up the joint when I’m in court for them. The necklace is multicolored Tahitians from a local jeweler. The earrings: pearls are from Roberto Lay; then I had a jeweler set them with Tanzanite and yellow gold.

So fun reading your pearl reporting from Hawaii @jeg! Here in Sicily I see a lot of people wearing mostly freshwater pearls from the tiny ones to the very showy ones, even dyed freshies made that pretend to be Ts, but real Tahitian sightings are so rare…Once or thrice in 15 years…

@Syrie Oh Wow definitely a class act pearls you have there! I especially love love LOVE the tanzanites and pearls combination, what a stunner!

@BWeaves let me repeat myself all your blue akoyas are the height of gorgeousness 💙

@PearlyLibrarian Love the torsade! Those akoyas are truly glowing! And the keshi ombre is so cute!!!

I am getting ready for travelling to my hometown for Christmas, having some pearl choices to make, choose the ones that are going with me;-) This T strand made by Margaret from Simply Adorned on Etsy is definitely coming, I almost forgot about it, then remembered it due to other thread on this forum. It is so versatile, a great design by our dear @jeg. Pearls mostly from CMW, the big 14mm blueish T is from Druzy I had no idea what to do with it for the longest time as it is too big for me but I found that it works perfectly with this necklace.
I am also taking a sunny necklace fom leftover pearls and gem beads ( my last makeover of this year) a summer vibe in cold European winter.

Very festive selections!

Margaret is a treasure. And it looks amazing on you!

Oh, you look fantastic, Syrie! I hope your court appearances went well and if nothing else, you were stunning.

Some tough choices to make, eolian. I like the idea of added color for a dreary winter. Ahh, you remind me I haven’t had that tin cup out for a while!

My last day in Hawaii. Time to fly home tomorrow. I’ll miss the warm sunny weather. Wearing one of the few pieces I brought with me, other than the Traveling Pearl and some various pearl studs. Wearing a pearl stuffed seashell on sapphire beads from Kojima.

I caught the very last contestant last night on a continuation of the local talent show. The host was wearing the three Tahitian ring again, and some very large dangle earrings. They were either Edisons or very large Tahitians. The last contestant had a Tahitian wrap style bangle bracelet, Tahitian hoop earrings, and a Tahitian necklace that I think was a rope doubled because of the way it moved. I’ve been seeing a lot of hoops in varying sizes with either Tahitian or white pearls dangling. It’s making me want a pair of big hoops!

Syrie, Eolian Pearl, and JEG: I love everything.

Tiger: This one's for you. Hanadama studs worn with my PJs.

Hanadamas and feather. Longer rope is 8 mm natural white Hanadama pearls from Pearl Paradise via Takashi, who owns The Akoya Pearl Company in Japan. Shorter 5mm akoya rope are the first pearls I bought for myself in 1982. 9mm Hanadama earrings from Pearl Paradise are pinked, because they looked better on my earlobe than the natural white Hanadama studs looked. Large, freshwater feather pearl from Kojima Pearl. I love the contrast of the very baroque feather pearl with the perfectly round, smooth, lustrous akoya pearls.

Worn with my navy blue PJs! I couldn't get a good photo because white pearls look amazing with black or navy blue to my eye, but the camera does not like the sharp color contrast. The camera wants to make everything grey.

The ball clasps are CZs. They sparkle like crazy in sunlight, and cost much less than diamonds. I wanted to spend my money on the pearls, not the clasp. The Hanadama strand's clasp is white gold with CZs. The old strand's clasp is base metal with yellow gold and rhodium plating, from Fire Mountain Gems. I replaced the original real gold and diamond clasp with the fake one, because the fake one looked so much better than the real one. The real one had grey diamond chips with no sparkle.

Here's the group in motion:
