Hi all,

My very first post. I was wondering where else can I get beautiful unique fireball pearls online besides Etsy? Ideally, I’d love to choose the shape.

Alternatively, beautiful round Edison pearl pieces :). Love those with unique metallic hues like blue or light green, which I understand is unique for edison pearls.

It’s generally hard to find unique pearl jewellery for men imo

Thank you :)

Hello FireballFan, and welcome to the forum! I didn’t want to send you on a wild goose chase, so I asked Sarah at Kojima Pearls first. She has so much stock that is constantly changing. You can find her on Instagram or through the Kojima Pearl website. Here are a couple photos that she sent. Sometimes there are some cool greenish colored ones. As for metallic freshwater pearls, or Edison type, yes, blue and green would be quite unique.

Hi there ! i bought a gorgeous light grey fireball pearl on a pendant from this website last month - super happy with it and got loads of compliments! They have an array of fireball colours. some as pearls to buy and some as jewellery pieces. https://www.pearlescence.co.uk/
Will post you a pic of it when im wearing it next :)

Thanks a bunch jeg, that’s very helpful. I’m hoping to find the colourful varieties. If I’m correct, the white ones tend to be dyed?

You can inquire about colors. Inventory constantly changes with all vendors. I don’t know where you’re located, but Cees from Amsterdam Pearls, is another person you can try. He goes between Bangkok and Amsterdam. He is really good about looking into special requests. Be specific about colors and shapes- fireballs can be wildly different, as you know. I haven’t seen a lot of fireballs recently (not a typical stock item for most vendors) so you might need to inquire and put in a request to some of the vendors. You also might try the vendors in Hong Kong/China, that specialize in freshwater pearls, but it sounds like you are familiar with those on Etsy.

Thanks so much jeg, you are ever so helpful. I am UK based. You are right, there aren’t a lot of fireball pearls on the market at the moment, I wonder why

I am just guessing, but bead nucleated freshwater pearls haven’t been around for all that long, so as they improve their technique, there might be less oddities in that quest for perfect rounds. There are still a ton around, but it is also a specialty item so not that many vendors stock them. There are probably a bazillion of them sitting in tubs in China. The market for freshwater pearls is not as strong around here as for other types of pearls.

Katbran is in Australia. I don’t recall if she ever had fireballs, but she might have some random old stock.

I would love some blemish free round edisons too between 12-15mm but those are also hard to find too

I always pull these pearls out as examples of Edisons, so they have been on PG too many times to count. I made a special request to Jeremy (PP) on one of his trips to Hong Kong. They were selected from the Grace Pearl showcase. Actually, the baroque Edison was from the year before. They are very early Edisons, when Grace Pearl was the only producer of round freshwater pearls of quality.
You can try contacting PP to see if they have anything in stock. Sometimes a loose metallic freshwater pearl is used in a ring or pendant. I would say the same for most vendors- they might have single pearls in their inventory. Cees had some pairs on his IG not too long ago. Again, he can look into special requests for you. I think it’s like the fireballs- not a high stock item for most vendors unless you look into vendors in China.

FireballFan, I looked at Katbran’s IG page and she recently posted these fireballs-

I’ve only suggested vendors I have purchased from. Pearlescence, who posted above, is also located in UK. I have not worked with her, but there are others here on PG who have.

Show and tell when you find something, ok?!
