I have to share this photo. I'm not a cat person. This is my friend's cat. I recently corrupted her to the pearl side, and she's taking the Pearls As One course. She just bought some Tahitians from PP and Kojima, and here's the photo of the tin-cup she bought. Isn't he a glorious model!

Visiting Dad today wearing Mom's pearls. Mom's akoya ring and ring pin. My freshwater drops from Kojima on my own huggies.

Comparing my Hanadama studs to my baroque akoya necklace from PP. From a short distance, they match really well. Up close, the Hanadamas have a perfect surface texture, while the baroque pearls are slightly off round and have a bumpy surface. But the baroques have much thicker nacre than the Hanadamas. The luster, though!!! Equivalent.

I just had to put my baroque south sea pearls on today. I don't wear these nearly often enough.

Rainbow hued Kasumi pearl from Kojima. Wire wrapped necklace of intensely golden SS keshi and tourmalines from Hisano at PP. Boring little tourmaline earrings, barely worth mentioning.

CFW studs & vintage CFW pearls with Toho beads I’ve had in my craft supplies for 20 years and some silver findings. It’s great to be able to remake some old stuff into things I can wear without concern for whatever bad fate they might meet. Like too much perfume

It's cold today in Florida, 30F. Tomorrow it will be 80F again, but this morning COLD.

Just home today, chilling with my ice cube necklaces earrings from Kojima. I used to think the earrings looked a bit like coral, but now I think they look like a jumping dolphin and a hammerhead shark.

I pulled out these "exotic" 8-9mm pearls from Feb. 2008 and photographed them outdoors in full sun, in shade, and indoors. I love this strand!
I strung it on Baby (pink) Serafil #30 which I bought from Pattye's Etsy shop.

Thank you, Pattye. They have held their luster and color now for nearly 18 years. Freshwaters can be amazing.

Finished stringing these—a $10 64” absolutely chaotic rice & keishi strand strung with 14k findings from old rice pearls I thrifted. I am sooooo pleased.

I might grab some more gold beads and make some more pieces with the several feet left of the strand. The pearls are lovely but the way it is strung is so overwhelming that you can’t actually see how pretty the pearls are.
