That strand of Tahitians is so pretty, SurfnSci. And same here about wire-wrapping. It opened up a whole new avenue.

Got my new drivers license today. They changed my license number on me. Besides my car insurance, I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out who else needs to know my number changed.

Anyway, I wore pearls for my new drivers license photo. Tahitian studs from Ocean's Cove, and long Tahitian keshi tin-cup from Kojima worn doubled.

Lavender and peacock Tahitian studs from Kamoka. Mixed ombre' tin-cup from Kojima. I think there are Tahitians, Kasumi, Chinese freshwaters, South Sea, and maybe some Japanese akoya in this necklace. Chocolate plum pendant from Kojima. This pearl has faded to pale lavender. It's still a pretty pearl, but its totally lost is dark purple coloring. I don't seem to have any luck with intensely colored Chinese freshwater pearls.

I'm not sure this dark green linen top does the pink pearls any favors, but the top is intensifying the green pearls.

They changed the number?!? I would be in trouble because I've had it memorized so long. But wow, I wish I looked that good in my DL picture. Mine was taken years ago and is not at all flattering in any way lol.

Also, Idk who else would need to know, but if you haven't already, please provide your new DL to all your financial institutions that you use.

Thanks! I wondered about whether my bank or financial institutions needed that.

It used to be my DL number was the initial of my last name, the year I got my first drivers license, the year I was born, and a number representing how many people got their drivers licenses that day. Now it's some random number, and my number looks fake. My new number looks something like this W222-000-000-000-0. I actually went back in to the DMV and complained that they gave me a wrong number because it looked so fake. The lady behind the counter said they're changing all the DL numbers in Florida, and that nobody making a fake ID would pick my weird number just because it looks too fake. She had a point.
 
Lounging around the house pearls. Pistachio Tahitian studs from Kojima. The Swan from Pacific Pearls mounted by a local jeweler who's not here anymore. The pearl is good on all sides, so it's mounted in a pressure setting. If I ever want to remove the pearl, it would destroy the setting, but the pearl would still be fine. It's in white palladium and 18K yellow gold, with some leftover diamonds from a ring I hade redone. White gold knit choker. The pearl blew me away when it arrived. I thought it was going to be grey from the vendor photos, but it is erotochromatic, as Douglas would say. I keep writing it erectochromatic and then have to go look it up.

I don't wear these very often as most cream colored pearls don't look great on me, or go with the cool-toned clothes I tend to wear. Today I wore these to shop for groceries. They go well enough with this top.

This is a 6.2mm-9.0mm graduated akoya strand with a 14K white gold clasp with 3 diamonds. I got it for a song at a consignment shop. They were grimy and badly in need of restringing, and the previous owner had added 4 smaller, duller, whiter pearls at the ends to lengthen it. All in all it was not an attractive necklace in that condition and it had been there long enough to be sale priced.

Ladies, this is a very good reason to learn how to restring! ;)

And blue baroque akoya ring from Takahashi bought when I was in Japan. I don't find this pair of mismatched earrings quite as versatile as the pale blue and dark eggplant Tahitian pair, but sometimes the this lavender and peacock pair is a better match to the other pearls I'm wearing. I love mismatched earrings.

When I wore the Takahashi ring today, I had yet another person say, "Wow, I can SEE INTO THE PEARLS."

Hi, my Kamoka-chested friend 😄I really love the Takahashi ring, I've never had a pearl ring because I'm a beast with my hands and I'm terrified that I'd ruin it. And the blue Akoya ring would have me in full panic mode. I'd have to walk around with my hands in the air, like a stick up. How do you do it?

I rarely wear rings around the house, not even my wedding rings. They snag on my weaving yarns. And I bang them into walls when going around corners. I don't wear them grocery shopping, either. I only wear pearl rings when out visiting, and I'm very careful with my hands during that time. I'm slightly terrified of losing the Takahashi ring, since it's a bit big for my pinkie and too small for my ring finger. I'm constantly checking it's there, because it has no "top" so I can't feel it when I'm wearing it.

I never thought I'd be a nail polish person, either. But since I've been getting my nails professionally done, I've quit picking at my cuticles, so my hands look nicer for wearing rings. And I've started to get a little wild with the nail polish designs, too.
