I’ve always loved checking advertisement campaigns and I can’t help but think that Michelle Yeoh is such a perfect ambassador for Mikimoto’s recent campaign!

But also, the Chinese actor Song Weilong is really setting the trend in China, Korea and Japan for men being more bold in their chooses. The narrative was always pushing for black south sea pearls for men. He’s also an embassador for Mikimoto.

Paspaley is also really taking off in Asia at the moment, but people seem to love their more imperfect pearls. I certainly love their baroque pearls!

Tasaki somehow doesn’t seem to be able to match the appeal of Mikimoto in their common home country, even though they have a generally younger following.

Do any of you have any favourite campaigns you remember? Would love to see more!

(I'm getting a slight Frank-n-furter vibe that is drowned out by the tweed jacket.)
Ha! Good catch!

I always liked the Assael advertisements, but they weren't really campaigns.

The "campaign" that I remember was in 2023:
Ni Ni an acclaimed Chinese Actress/infuencer and pearl lover, celebrated the success of her latest movie with a stunning social media campaign of 30 selfies showing her love of Tahitian pearls.
This had an astonishing effect on the pearl market.

Rocky Horror is a classic! MUST SEE!

Michelle changed her hair again.

Over on YouTube, I found under World of Paspaley, Diver: A Collection for Men, introduced about a month ago.
"Inspired by our real pearling crews, past and present, Diver captures their strength, courage and the wild energy of the Kimberley coastline."
I think I could watch it on a loop (drool).
