Hello group, these little beauties seem a bit special, but I still don't know how to discern a whole lot regarding pearls. I think these are buttons. They have a hint of blue or gray and the luster is quite nice. They measure approx 7 mm high by 6 -6.5 mm wide. The post in the pearls is threaded and can be unscrewed from the base. I think the metal is 18k gold or higher because I acid tested. It did not test for platinum. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I couldn't find any information about Kamiya. The box is wood covered in leather. Thank you ever so much!

They appear to be akoya pearls. The blue coloration is natural and comes from organic deposits on the nucleus during growth. The name is a typical Japanese last name, so they may have come from a small jewelry shop in Nagasaki, Japan.

Great find Kimberly. Those are some lovely gray/blue Akoyas. I agree 100% with Jeremy. Wear these in good health!

May be way off base here, but might this be a really nice set of tuxedo studs?

Tell Walter he has the eyes of an eagle and sharp wits!
