My pearls

Pearl jewelry designing and photography...and Japanese cooking! Sounds like a great combination :)
Wish you all a great weekend!
:D

Thank you CortezPearls. I wish you a happy weekend as well. Today I made a stretch bracelet, remade and shortened a strand. That vintage golden akoya wavestrand with deep golden south sea pearls did indeed turn out lovely but didn't look right when worn. So I made a mixed south sea bracelet with a vermeil bead for hiding the knots instead. I have to make something else with those vintage akoyas.

With my white south sea keshi studs from Pearlescence.

And with my deep golden circled south sea strand that I made with pearls from Druzydesign except for two pearls that I got from Pearlescence.

And some more of my new mixed south sea rope that are mainly made with pearls from Druzydesign.

I am probably going to add those deep golden south sea pearls with really defined circles that are coming any day now to this rope. Like an add a favorite pearl rope, but with complete restringing that is...

Then I remade my black and white strand, well white south sea pearls and dark tahitians that is. I wanted the strand a bit shorter, it was 26,5 inches and I wanted it somewhere around 19-20 inches long. There were also some white south sea pearls that I wanted to exchange. Some pointy ones. Like this one.

And I had all those south sea pearls on my beading board with just the right pearls. I am very pleased with this remake. I think it's 20 inches long. Forgot my measuring tape at home with my caliper. The photos are a bit dark, it was almost dark when I took them but will retake them tomorrow. I might do a bracelet with the leftovers from this strand. I have to add some pearls to get the right lenght and the light was to weak for seeing the overtones as well.

I think it's better balanced now. Some of the pointy white south sea pearls that I exchanged were a bit smaller than the tahitians. That looks better now. I haven't moved the placement of the dark or light pearls, only removed 7 pearls from each side, the smallest ones. The pearls are mostly from OceansRhyme and Pearlescence. The perfect earrings for this strand is those white south sea keshi button pearls from Pearlescence, see previous post. I wonder if I will ever wear my perfectly round white south sea studs again. They are a bit boring nowadays. Or maybe I am getting old and exentric....

I love how you play with your pearls and change them if they "don't work for you"...I mean, you follow those creative impulses. The results are really great...and your photos are simply great! Hard not to fall in love with them!

Thank you CortezPearls. Well I have found that if I follow my creative impulses I get more of them. Somehow creativity creates more creativity and not just in one field. And it makes me happy.

I love your mix of white and golden SSP’s, Charlotta. Lots of cool color and shape variations. Hope you’ve recovered from your vaccination...I’ve been told that those types of side effects are a sign of a robust immune system.

I enjoy your creativity immensely Charlotta! Love all the tranformations of your beautiful pearls, especially the ropes...those are divine!!! all of them!!! Tahitians, SSP, mixed ones, circled ones, all made with your special touch!

And thank you for the neckshot! I know those pearls look thousand times better IRL but still appreciate to see them in action ;-)

Thank you TriciaS and eolian pearls. I was feeling much better by sunday. The side effects were so much worse with the second dose of vaccine.
I did make a bracelet out of those white south sea pearls and the dark tahitians. Funny thing is that I didn't have a carved bead in a color that complimented the pearls so I changed the bead on some of my other stretch bracelets. When I was going to put the black and white pearls on the stretch cord the drillholes were to small for the cord...have to get thinner ones. So I ended up stringing it anyway...

The white south sea keshi studs are from Pearlescence. Love those studs, they are button so really comfortable and light.

And the remade bracelets. First the mixed south sea bracelet that I made with pearls from Druzydesign. It had an vermeil bead before.

I choosed the red jasper scarab so that it looks nice with my ombre south sea bracelet with a carved red jasper skull.

So I put the vermeil bead on the blue tahitian bracelet from cmw pearls instead. The inspiration was an antique oil lamp that we have. With blue glass and I think brass that is stunning.

It had me thinking about changing the clasps for golden ones on my blue tahitian strands, but then the pendants and enhancers will look all wrong so probably not. The sharp eyes notice that the mixed south sea bracelet got the carved bead from the blue bracelet...well the white and black bracelet couldn't use it so I put it on the mixed south sea bracelet instead. First I put another vermeil bead on it, but it didn't look good since that bead was so tiny.

And the promised selfie of the deep golden south sea strand and my white south sea strand. Not the white one that I had intended, but very pretty anyway. It's my good white south sea strand from Cees. It's a smidge shorter than the deep golden south sea strand from Druzydesign.

With the rope that stole all the circled white south sea pearls... Just kidding, that was all me.

And my new black and white strand.

I am not in jail. Found a very comfortable striped sleeveless short in my closet. Had it been a tad longer I could have used it as a dress. No I have to add a skirt or something. Not-husband thought that I looked very funny when I added my worn favorite cashmere sweater on top of it all by evening...what with the shirts stickning out and all. But I had pearls on at least.

LOL...not in jail and hopefully no longer confined due to COVID (glad to hear you got your 2nd dose, I'm hoping that you are no longer having the side effects). Beautiful items! I love the way they look on you too :D

Thank you CortezPearls. Our restrictions are to be lifted somewhat july 1, but you still have to be careful. Two weeks after dose 2 we are considered protected but still has to keep distance etc. I think that the restrictions will be lifted even more on july 15, but I have totally lost track of them all.

Thank you eolian pearls. My latest order, from a month ago that is, of circled south sea pearls arrived from Druzydesign yesterday. Some gorgeous circled deep golden pearls and a couple of cream ones. Also a pair of earrings with deep golden circled south sea pearls, I only exchanged the hooks on them for some vermeil hooks with emeralds. I show you soon.
I added most of the pearls to the mixed south sea rope. It needed a bit more deep golden south sea pearls. I measured it last night after finishing the stringing and it's 42 inches long. So future pearls will probably exchange others. 42 inches is long enough I think. I made a tahitian rope way longer but then didn't use it much and shortened it to 41 inches. Now I am restringing my deep golden circled south sea strand since I found a frayed tread.

Well better photos of my new earrings soon. This was the best I could do at home. They are a smidge less yellow.

With lots of green in them and some pink as well. So the emeralds work fine.

Darn light. The colors are too warm. An idea of the rope anyway. Not really showing all the colors nor the overtones.

And the in front of my quilt curtains selfies of the rope doubled. Tangled or more formal. Well it's not all that formal considering that the colors are all mixed and so are the sizes of the pearls.

not to sharp but you get the idea. Probably will wear it long most of the time.

Thank you for taking the selfies! It’s a whole different perspective to see the pearls on. I really like to see the composition of strands when worn. :veryhappy:
