Hi,
I have this pearl that is probably around 70 years old or maybe more. Is a misshape pearl around 15 mm big with a blemish and some groves. I inspected the hole and not traces of any layes looks pretty smooth inside like a bone. There is any way someone can help me identify it.

Looks like a baroque pearl! Could be natural and has good size.
Looks a bit dehydrated.
Do you have any idea of its origin? Was it in your family?
I kind of believe it could be freshwater.

Hi thanks for the help. No the pearl is not mine is from a customer. Apparently was bought in the 70’s and was an expensive one if that means something since is subjective. How can I rehydrate a pearl? I will really appreciate any help

You may help your pearl's rehydration by first placing it inside a container with water, just for a couple of hours.
Take it out, pat it dry and let it dry for another couple of hours and then use a small drop of mineral oil to rub it on top of the pearl. Remove excess oil with a napkin after an hour or so.
That should be helpful...and just wait an see if it looks better!
