Anyone know anything about Mikimoto pearls in orange brocade cases?
Purchased about 15 years ago at an estate sale. I've seen this orange brocade case just once before, my Mom's Mikimotos purchased by Dad when he was an American serviceman in Japan after WW2.
Is this how Mikimoto packaged its pearls around that time - WW2 or 1950s? Looking for some historical context, even if it doesn't mean a whole lot.
Also, and it can be seen in the last photo, each pearl has a slightly different hue, is this considered a deficiency?
Am finally getting around to getting these knotted properly and affixed with a clasp so that they can be worn.
Any info, comments are welcome. Thank you!
