Fuzzy knots

I watched just enough to see how she makes the knot , which is different from my method, but I can't see any reason why that should cause thread to fray. I suspect it's just that bracelets undergo more stress than necklaces.

I think so too. And if I wear it everyday, even more so. I would have to restring every 6 to 12 months. I also thought as gross as it sounds with necklaces you would sweat around more, especially in an Australian summer, and that may sort of lubricate the serafil. Necklace I find it's more with movement of pearls in between the knots, and that's when I have to restring, or when the cord looks dirty.

Can I get other people's opinion as well? Do you do a straight over hand knot with all the threads or do you pull them apart and knot that way?

Beck, I knot the way Pearl Dreams does. Her detailed tutorial with photos on this forum is here

I use a needle with doubled thread, make an overhand knot close to the pearl and pull the threads apart to seat the knot. I don't use any tool.
There are many styles of knotting and they are all fine if one is getting the result one wants.

Do you have other pearl bracelets worn frequently to compare with this one?

I've switched to elastic which isn't the best but it means I don't worry so much. Here's an example of pearls I've worn relatively frequently. I've looked at pearl dreams tutorial and I find it hard to understand without a video. It is why I'm wondering if knots last for a much longer time if doing an over hand knot using all the threads rather splitting in 2 and making a knot that way. With that though some pearls move slightly on the strand even when pulling strands apart to seat the knot. Hence why I moved to four strands of thread
