Hello, I have a friend in Thailand who contacted me claiming to have found the largest near spherical pearl ever. I have concerns about the test results; specifically the sections specifying a polished cut, and the sample type being a cut stone.

They claim this pearl was found in a giant clam, and they may be in possession of the shell. I am still working on identifying species and exact locality, but what are the chances this is a legitimate find?

EDXRF analysis identified the ion returned to the instrument. Calcite. LRS supports this.

Nothing in the report suggests this is a pearl of any origin, but instead confirms it is a section of a shell.

In geometry and nature, a deviation of .1mm from a nearly 5cm object is mathematically improbable.

I agree with the method, protocol and conclusion of this certificate.
