I started this thread because I found out that sometimes the big names in pearls changed their logo/trademarks. Mikimoto had his logo very early on...pre-WWII. Some others seemed late for marking their pearl clasps, post WWII. A number of them borrowed the Mikimoto clam shell, with their own letter inside. I can't keep all the marks in my mind and I want to look back on them.This is perhaps too late for the original poster. However, trademarks and patents need to be registered to be protected under law. I suspect that requirement applies in Japan too and that there is a Japanese trademark/patent database available on the web.
