Hi everyone,

Disclosure: We are De Blancas, an online pearl jewelry shop.

We recently launched a custom pearl jewelry design tool that lets people turn an idea into a visual pearl jewelry concept before moving into the final design process. Since this forum has many knowledgeable pearl lovers, I wanted to ask for feedback rather than simply promote it.

The tool is meant to help customers explore a design direction earlier in the process, then have the concept reviewed and refined with human design support before production. We are especially interested in feedback on whether the designs feel wearable, realistic, and appropriate for pearl jewelry.

We are also running a small June Pearl Design Challenge to celebrate Pearl as June’s birthstone, but I don’t want to link-drop or post anything that feels out of place here. If it’s allowed, I’m happy to share the link, or I can remove this post if vendor posts like this are not appropriate.

Thank you, and I’d genuinely appreciate any thoughts from the community.

I can only speak for myself but I would never buy vermeil pearl jewelry nor pay for custom design with vermeil. I have used vermeil findings (as well as gold filled) for beaded jewelry I've made for myself, but my experience is that tarnishing does occur. Removing it risks wearing away the plating, and it would be particularly hard to remove it from a complicated finding without risking damage to the pearl.

I realize 9K is popular in some parts of the world but it's not for me. In the USA 10K is the minimum for gold.
Sterling silver and pearls...problematic. For clasps I use rhodium plated silver.
And stainless steel is not for me, either. Others may feel differently.

Also, I don't buy into the A-AAAA range for pearl grading. A-AAA is standard.

So-- it would be a "no" for me.

In general vendor posts such as this do read as advertising, which is not allowed on this forum, but you can have a simple link to your business in your signature. Please see this post for clarification:

Thank you for the honest feedback. We really appreciate it :) Yes, WE don't do stainless steel and 9K gold. But right now the gold price is insane; most of customers can't afford gold jewelry.

Recently we visited a local jeweler to have the battery replaced in my husband's watch. He told us that most of his business now is repairs, because of the price of gold. :(

My only thought on stainless steel is that it works for people with metal allergies, usually to nickel alloys.
