Hello,

I would appreciate any help in determining the value of this string of natural pearls.
They were bought in 1971 in Jammu, India - the Jeweler who sold them proclaimed they were 'Basra' pearls from a royal household.

I've had them examined by GIA and am attaching the report with details.

I've seen massively varied valuations during my research on the net.

I spoke to a couple of jewelers in Mumbai but got very low ball offers - like lower than what cultured pearls sell for.

Should I just put them away or is there any proper value for these?

Thank You

I'd recommend checking out KariPearls.com to get some comparables. She has some near buttons and near ovals there in similar gram weights. I can't really make out the shape of yours, but it does appear to be more free-form baroque overall.
