My thoughts exactly. The three white pieces may be tridacna pearls, but the purple and tan are beads.I don't see Quahog pearls here. Three could be clam pearls, but I'd need to see additional photos. The others are beads.
I'm going shell on those too. Nicely polished. The three white pieces may be tridacna pearls
You are correct in the context that differentiation is highly subjective. Objective differentiation is much more complex, even for scientists in those fields. Unravelling genetic codes (DNA) and micro chemical analysis have limitations, thus greater burdens are in place to be conclusive.I know that lots of experience is the BEST way to Identify different pearls....but is there postings to Identify characteristics of Akoya, Tahtians, Quahog Etc. versus Freshwater.
quahog pearls don’t have a flame. Tridacna pearls do! And quahogs come in pure white purple and pink to distinguish between themI know that lots of experience is the BEST way to Identify different pearls....but is there postings to Identify characteristics of Akoya, Tahtians, Quahog Etc. versus Freshwater. I searched this forum and must be putting in the wrong terms.
